chapter 7

Kayla's POV

When I wake up in the morning there's a heavy object across my waist and I open my eyes to see an arm. I slowly follow the arm up to the face of it's owner, at first i'm surprised to see Niall beside me. I then quickly remember the horrible nightmare I had last night. That wasn't my first time having it and it probably won't be my last. Screaming is never something that's happen during the dream though. It usually haunts me but leaves no evidence that it's happen for others to see.

I'm still tired so I slowly close my eyes hoping to fall back asleep. Sadly, the world isn't that nice, I can't fall asleep again and I can't get up seeing as Niall's arm has me trapped here. I decide to keep my eyes closed and block out the sun that is shining through my window. 

I can hear what sounds like 3 pair of foot steps in the hallway. My guess is Alexis has already come over. I then hear my door crack open and Kenna's quiet giggles. It also sounds like a phone camera takes a picture. Honestly I don't care though,  I'm super comfortable laying here in Niall's arms. 

"They are so cute!" Kenna squeals. 

"Shut up or he'll wake up!" Colten tells her.

"I'm going to guess he likes her or well she doesn't drive him insane." Alexis says. 

I can feel their eyes on us and it's kind of making me uncomfortable. I can feel Niall's arm tighten around me as he groans. He then moves closer which I didn't realize was even possible.

"Shut up or I will kill you!" He tells them, " Kayla's still sleeping and after last night she need's all the sleep she can get before you idiots wake her up, now get out." 

They all mumble there yeses before I hear them walk out. Niall puts his face in the crook of my neck before I hear his breathing even out, telling me he's asleep. I lay here trying to fall asleep but it still won't come, I really hope Zayn doesn't bother me or show up around here today. I honestly can't deal with him and his pathetic attempts at getting forgiveness today.

As I think I notice I've been running my hands through Niall's soft blonde hair. As I think his name a smile forms onto my face and I can't stop it. Must be cause I've missed hanging out with him and the rest of his group. I slowly begin to fall asleep (FINALLY!)

I wake up again and rub my eyes, Niall is beside me still, other than this time he's waking up to. His hair's a little messed up and sticking up all over the place. This causes me to giggle quietly before I somewhat fix it. 

"Thanks for staying with me." I tell him quietly.

"No problem." He says while giving me one of his true smiles.

"Always happy to help a damsel in distress." He says with one of his few cheeky smiles.

I laugh and shake my head at him before getting out of bed. This is when I notice he's shirtless...... and he has abs...........*insert smirking face*

I walk downstairs before making me some coffee and sit on the couch. The others had turned on Narnia and it's like my all time favorite movie! Niall comes in after I sit and takes a seat on the couch right beside me, causing Alexis raises her eyebrow at him some. We all watch the movie in silence and it's actually nice. The silence is the interrupted by my phone buzzing and so I go to check it.

*messages*

zayn: we need to talk....

me: nah I'm busy 

zayn: busy doing what

me: um its none of your business

zayn: well it kind of is

me: it's not but if you really must know I'm hanging out with Kenna and her friends

zayn: ha yea like I'm going to let that happen

me: well you have no choice in it so it doesn't matter. I've been hanging out with them for years and you aren't going to change that. I'm not like your other friends, I'm not some puppet on a string you can control. The sooner you learn that the better. Don't try to tell me how to live my life. It's not up to you or anyone else, I decide what happens. 

zayn: Kayla you're not hanging out with them! I said no so that's final! Oh and no I don't control my friends like they're puppets it's just that they're smart enough to listen to what I tell them. 

me: you come to my house and try to stop me and see how long it takes Kenna to go after you. Wait she wouldn't even have to Niall would gladly deal with you. Oh and I'm sorry I guess my straight A self isn't very smart then. Have fun controlling your friends but I will not be controlled and that's that 

zayn: you know what whatever I'm not dealing with you today

(conversation over)

Gosh he's annoying and see, he acts like a protective boyfriend. I could strangle him right now! I guess my face was giving away my anger because everyone is looking at me. I blush a deep red and give them a nervous smile. Colten gives me a knowing look and so does Kenna. Alexis and Niall look so confused.

"So what are we going to do today?" I ask

There's a knock at the door. I swear if Zayn's at her door I might kill him. Alexis opens it and we all see her tense. Standing at the door is Gracie, Zayn's sister, who Alexis has some bad blood with.  I  quickly get up and walk over to the door. 

"What do you want? I was really hoping not to deal with your brother or you and his fellow followers." I tell her

"I just came to say be careful who you hang out with and what you say to Zayn." she tells me

"Is that a threat?" Kenna asks now standing by me.

"Maybe it is." Gracie tells her with a sneer. 

Quickly Alexis is holding Kenna who's ready to jump at Gracie. Libby get's out of the car and sneer's at Alexis and Kenna before informing Gracie that she was wasting time. 

We all walk back into the house and Colten instantly wraps his arms around pissed off Kenna. For once I'm ready to actually flip. I grab my phone and storm off out the back door ignoring the curious and confused looks I'm getting from the others.

I remembered to update thanks to my amazing cousin Makenna (the person Kenna's based off of) her account name is @Kenny0320 and make sure to read her book 'The Haunting of Kasey'. I'm super sorry i haven't updated in FOREVER! I really don't use this account except to write this book. I've also been busy with school and things like FFA and Student council. I'll try to remember to update more often! Well i hope you enjoyed this chapter!
