Chapter 10: Sunshine and Darkness

"Good morning Mr.Osshen!" Lilith said smiling
Followed behind her were two girls. One had light brown hair and wore a yellow sundress while the other had black hair and had on a biker like outfit, Dan could tell they would be polar opposites as soon as they spoke.
"Ahh good morning Lil, did your friends have a safe trip here?" He asked
"They did"
She looked around
"Do you know if they know we're here?" She asked so quiet it would have taken a bat to hear
"No I believe your safe" Mr.Osshen said as he looked at Dan
"Mari, Jackie this is Dan, he works here" Lilith said pointing at him
Mari walked up to Dan and looked up at him smiling ear to ear
"I like your eyepatch!" She said getting all giddy
Dan didn't know what to make of this, Jackie came up and pushed her away.
"I'm sorry, she gets like this sometimes" she said kinda annoyed
Dan looked at Mr.Osshen
"Who are they, that Lilith was talking about?"
Lilith sighed "its this group that has their father captured"
Dan shook his head "they're sisters?" He asked surprised
Mr.Osshen laughed
"You guys will be sleeping upstairs for the time being" he said
Jackie and Mari nodded and went upstairs, followed by Lilith

After everyone got settled down Dan brought up a cup of coffee for Mari. He opened her door to discover...... her.
She had blood all over her face and he could tell she was eating flesh, her eyes as black as the night sky and those blood red pupils, Dan freaked out and slammed the door closed.
"I'm so sorry I didn't mean to disturb you!" He yelled
"It's ok you can come in!" Mari yelled back
Dan slowly opened the door back open to find Mari, her face clean and her plate missing.
"Here I brought you a coffee" he said sitting it down
Mari patted the seat next to her and Dan sat down
"May I ask you a question?" She asked
Dan looked up
"Are you a human?"
Dan didn't know how to make of this question, a question he asked himself in his mind on the daily since the accident.
Was he human?
"Well no.......I'm a ghoul, and I'm guessing you are too" he said laughing awkwardly
"Yes, my sister is too" Mari looked at Dan with a soft look in her eyes "if your a ghoul why did you freak out?" She asked
"It's a long story"
Jackie walked in and snorted loudly
"If you guys were planning on making out, I suggest some where else!"
Dan quickly got up and bowed
"I was just leaving" he opened the door and looked back at Mari "See you later" Dan said, then he left.
Mari sighed happily as Jackie rolled her eyes

Later that night
Dan decided to look at his eye before Phil got home to see it himself.Dan locked himself in the bathroom and took his eyepatch off.
His eye
Was black as a deepest hole
And his pupil red as blood

"Am I even human?"
