Chapter 4: Mythical Demons!?
Dominique stared at the exorcists as she bowed. "Its a pleasure to make your acquaintance Allen Walker. Lavi. Kanda Yu." she said politely.
The exorcist struggled but their attempts were fruitless.
"I hope to see you all again." and with that she took her leave. She walked to a shadow and disappeared into the darkness.
When she reappeared she found herself in a small town. She whistled high and soon a black cat with red eyes came forth. "Afternoon Kayla~ Here is innocence. Give it to mistress." She handed the cat the innocence, who took it in its mouth, and it retreated into the shadows of the forest.
Dominique sighed and rubbed her temples. "oooowww...mi cabeza duele mucho..." (My head really hurts) She muttered as she changed into 'Domino'. She walked down the street with her hands in her pockets and a frown on her face. She she didn't love these missions anymore than the next person but sometimes she grew so tired of them she always wondered what would've happened if she never was born a Judas. She looked around and glanced at all the faces in the town. Some of small children and others adults. Very few teenagers though. "That's, peculiar..." She mumbled as she looked from under her hat to get better glances. Without her even realizing it though, she had stopped in front of small antique shop.
"Oh miss...Are you here to help us?" She turned to see an elderly old woman. She was your stereotypical elder from the white hair to the wrinkled skin. She looked to be about 65 to 70 years old. "Um...." Domino was caught off guard by the question obviously. "A man with crimson hair wearing a Dark Order exorcist uniform. He said a beautiful woman with lightly tanned skin, a nose ring on the right, and bright blond hair with a white top hat, and also who took on the appearance of a magician would come to our town and help us." The woman brown eyes pleading to Domino.
"Uhhh.." She thought about the man she described and an image of a certain exorcist popped up into her mind. She groaned internally then externally sighed, "Fine...Tell me what you need help with...depending on what it is I'll help." Domino said.
The woman seemed ecstatic at Dominos answer, more-or-less the part about her helping, but; nonetheless the woman grabbed Domino's hand and pulled her inside the shop. Once inside Domino saw a dozen parents with few small children. "These are the families thats' had their teenage children stolen from them." The elderly woman explained. "What?" Domino's eyes widened under her hat as she looked from the old woman to the families.
"Is this true?" She asked them. They all nodded. "The Lizard man took our big brother and sister!" exclaimed a small child. "They took our eldest twin daughters." said a woman. "They took my 14 year old boy and 16 year old girl." said a man. The list of ages ranging from 13-19 years old went on. Domino was surprised to say the least.
She wondered what was really going on till she realized, "Akuma..." She muttered.
"What was that miss?" asked one of the distraught parents. "Akuma...Demons...Demonios...Devils...Onis...all forms of saying demons...I think you might be dealing with an Akuma.." Domino informed. She had a hand to her chin while the other held her elbow.
"Ha! You think we're dealing with mythical demons?" shouted a man who obviously needed some rest.
She looked at him calmly but on the inside wish she could rip him apart; she didn't particularly liked his tone. "Do you believe in God?" She asked. He nodded, "Of coarse I-" "Have you ever seen this God?" She cut him off. "Well, No but I-" "Have you ever gotten any form of proof that this so-called God exist?" She cut him off once more. "No but-" "Now have you ever been shown proof of any kind or have seen a Akuma? A demon..." She asked. "No." He said firmly. "So...You haven't seen or have been given any proof that God exists but you believe he does...So then, he could also be a mythical man...The Holy Bible was made years ago but it doesn't prove anything...Demons are in books and pictures...but you've never been given proof or seen them...So the main thing here is that...If you believe in God even though you aren't given reasons to...why can't you believe in Akuma just as others do...even though they aren't given reasons to but in most cases...they are..." She explained.
