After a long night at the property of the lake house, August and Killian found Charlotte waiting for them. Then, they decided to return back and sleep at Killian's.

At noon, they started to connect the pieces of the puzzle, but it wasn't enough. They needed the history of that house. So, August thought it was a good idea to go to the town's library. He was there for a couple of hours since the librarian wasn't any help at all.

When he returned, he brought a few pictures of the family and newspapers that talked about the family's tragedy.

Killian researched the family's biography, while Charlotte went to her house to have lunch. August in the other hand, began doing sketches of the lake house and its particular surroundings, like the carved trees, and the small black figure that still remains a mystery...

For now...

January 6, 2013. Sunday morning.

Charlotte was standing in front of a stone grave in the town's cemetery, holding a white flower and a silver key. She kneeled down and placed the key on the lock of the wooden chest that stood in front of the grave. The passage of the grave said:

"Richard Harris, father and husband. Rest peacefully as you watch your daughters grow from the sky."

Charlotte unlocks the chest and opens it. She grabbed a note from her father and read it. It was an address, that showed it was near the forbidden area of the town. The area of unknown mysteries waiting to be exposed. Charlotte closed the chest, leaving the white flower on top of the grave, and left with the note.

As Charlotte walked away, a cold breeze blew from behind her. She turned around and gasped, seeing the same small black figure that she saw a few weeks ago. But this time, it was standing in front of her father's grave. It picked up the white flower, but immediately turned it into ashes.

Anger took over Charlotte's eyes, her hands curled into fists and she began to shake of fear. She wished the creature gone, but the truth is that it will haunt her family forever. She shut her eyes furiously then opened them, more calmly. She looked were once stood the creature, but it wasn't there anymore.

A solid minute passed, her emotions began to show through tears in her eyes, falling and hitting the floor. She walked back to the grave and kneeled once again.

She placed her hand on top of the chest and whispered, "I'll fix our families sins once and for all, no matter what it takes for the future of our family."

Charlotte walked away, not forgetting what she saw, but will not tell anyone even if it hurts the people she loved.

Two days after the incident at the grave yard, Charlotte finally told Killian and August about the address. The boys were curious of where Charlotte found the address, but no information from her was taken out. Although, they knew that Charlotte will tell them sooner or later, but when?

August googled the address and found an old factory from the 1800s. It seemed that it was a clock factory because of the logo. The last owner was Philip Harvon, a famous businessman in the late 1800s. Harvon was August's grandmother last name and in his family, business ran through their veins. Even if August wanted to be a chef, his destiny was to work for the business of his father in New York.

5:32pm. December 29, 2012

Creaks from the stairs echoed down the halls. A small light shone throughout the edges of the closet's door, making Killian's heart beat faster and faster. The creaks stopped right in front of where Killian was hiding.

Killian began to shake by thinking that he'll be caught. A few seconds passed, that felt like hours. The lack of light grew duller, and it disappeared. Killian began to calm down and peeked through the edge of the door, but he only found the darkness that filled the lake house.

The sparkle in August's eyes and the moonlight from the broken window shone through the kitchen. A few feet away from August was the black figure that Charlotte once saw, the same small black figure that looked like a lost child, but this time, it was holding a sharp object, with droplets of dark blood.

August observed it, with pure caution and fear of getting hurt, and noticed that it was missing a few fingers and an ear. Before he could move an inch, it disappeared out of thin air.

August stood there confused as he analyzed what was going on. Then, he got out of the kitchen and began to look for Killian and Charlotte that might be in grave danger.
