"One step at a time sweetheart, one step at a time." the woman cooed. The small child smiled up at her and grabbed her hands. The little girl pulled herself up by the woman's hands and wobbled before falling back down. The woman chuckled and the child scowled while looking at the floor around her as though it was the floor's fault she had fallen. She once more grabbed the woman's hands and pulled herself up only to fall again. She kept trying over and over again, never giving up.
That was the day the child learned to walk. She was stubborn and pushed until she got what she wanted, never to back down, ever going forward, never going back. The day she learned to walk was the day she learned to keep trying, to never give up and to never let something hold you back.
"You will never back down, will you my love?" the woman mused to the little girl walking around the small room, testing her new limits. The child simply turned to her grandmother and pierced her with her gaze ,as though to say "Never."
