Chapter 3: Taking Off

April sat in the car preparing for the long flight ahead as Daniel began parking the car.
"Are you okay?" He asked with honest concern
"Honestly....I'm not sure I thought this you know going home wouldn't be a big deal but I'm freaking out"
"Is it Norman?"
"I don't know maybe I mean I haven't seen him since we broke up and that was four years ago"
"You never told me why you broke up anyway" he said while exiting the car and starting to grab bags.
"Are you honestly curious?"she asked getting out as well.
"Of course I mean you're my best friend and you've never said anything about you're past relationships"
"I'll think about telling you" she said as they walked towards the entrance of the airport. They boarded the airplane in complete silence, sitting in their seats and waiting for take off.3 hours later, on a plane in complete silence April sat there staring at the back of someone's seat. She looked over at Daniel who was soundly asleep and she thought about why she'd never told him what happened with Norman....maybe it was to prevent further pain on the subject or maybe she didn't care enough to say.
"Dan"she whispered sweetly "Danny...wake up...Dan" he began to stir
"Yes April" he looked over his bright brown eyes staring at her
"He cheated"
"What?"Dan asked confused
"He cheated on me that's why we broke up....I was an idiot for trusting him"
"You're not an idiot"
"Yes I am....I knew deep down I knew that he was lying...I just...I didn't want to believe it"
"You're not an idiot you were just in love with a jackass might I add"
"I guess I just believed that I was lucky that someone finally wanted me....you know ugly old, boring old me"
"April why would you ever think that....you're beautiful and smart..you deserve the best an nothing less"
"Dan why are you the greatest person ever"
"Cause I'm me little old Daniel"
"I love you Danny.....thanks" she yawned
"I love you too April....now get some rest we have about two more hours....come here"he said opening the blanket for her to join, she leaned over resting her head on his shoulder and shutting her eyes. One hour later April opened her eyes to the sound of Daniel laughing and talking silently.
"Why would you ever?"he said staring at the screen of his laptop, headphones in ear. Daniel was watching the longest ride,she guessed he had gotten board and decided to go thru the movies in her bag. She lifted her head from his shoulder an smiled, he quickly paused the movie "sorry did I wake you?"
"No..why are you watching the longest ride?"
"Well you only brought 4 movies....I didn't really have a choice"
"You could have watched the internship or season 2 of the walking dead"
"Yeah I also could have watched fifty shades of grey"
"See you have very many choices"
"Yeah every movie is a chick-flick"
"What the internship is not a chick-flick"
"As many times as you've made me watch it and talked about Dylan all I see is fan girl express"
"You're terrible now give me a headphone Sophia is about to fight with Luke" she grabbed one and leaned on his shoulder watching, but slowly drifting into silence and closing her eyes once again.
