Can't pretend

Chapter 4: Landing

April opened her eyes to the sound of the pilot saying they were landing soon by now Daniel was fully engaged in Ana and Christian. "Dan"April said tapping his shoulder
"Yeah"he said looking over and removing a headphone from his ear.
"We're going to be landing soon.....you probably need to give Ana and Christian a break"
"What it got the better of me I was curious, but I didn't get far she just barley met him"
"Okay I'll make you a deal if we can make it through dinner tonight with my parents I'll watch the rest with you tonight"
"Okay but.......we can't call each other Dan and April the entire night"
"Why not?"
"You're parents will know somethings up no couple calls each other by they're names anymore"
"Okay what will you call me then?"
"I like princess? Love? Babe? And Honey?"
"Okay that sounds good i'll
call you.....Babe, Baby, Sweetness and Pumpkin"
"I'm down with those names...We have to start right away princess"
"Sounds great babe" the pilot then turned on the light to signal a landing, the two put on they're seatbelt's preparing for landing. The airplane quickly landed allowing April an dan to get off and find a rental car. All it took was 10 mins of Dan driving in the direction of her parents house for April to begin to panic. The thought of her parents and Daniel in the same room made her stomach churn, her thoughts flew in the direction of disaster. "Pull over" she screamed frighting him.
"What?...April, what's wrong??"
"Just stop the car....I need a minute"
"Okay then" he smiled pulling the car to a side parking lot. She immediately jumped out and ran to the nearest tree "April!!!" Dan yelled jumping out and running after her "April what's going on?"he asked caressing her back
"My family Danny..I'm afraid to see them...I haven't seen them in over 4 years...how are they going to react"
"April they're you're family they are going to be happy to see you plus you are bring home the hottest boyfriend ever"
"Shut up"she smiled lightly tapping his side
"Now are you really going to let bad thoughts get you down or are you April Humphrey going to walk into that house with your head held high" he said holding out his hand for her to grab.
"Okay lets do this" she said grabbing his hand and walking back to the car with him. The car quickly began moving again moving closer and closer towards her parents but the uneasiness April had once felt vanish. Suddenly the thought of her parents wasn't so scary not as long as she had Daniel by her side. There was this warm fuzzy feeling she'd never felt before this sense of safety that she could admit she'd only ever felt with dan. She looked over at him and saw something she'd never seen in her 19 years of existence...she saw her home.
