Earlier the next day, in a suburban community full of town houses, stood a tall rough looking woman. She had long straight black hair that laid three inches above the ground. She wore a red kimono styled robe and black fingerless gloves. Her face had no nose or eyebrows since birth.

She also had big triangular eyes. Her right eye was shaped like a right triangle, and the other was shaped in the backwards form. On her back was a backpack and in her hand was a carry-on rolling in the grass. As she walked through the area, she saw something that took her attention.

It was a poster on a fence of a townhouse, but not just any poster. It was the poster she had been looking for; a poster asking for someone to pay for a place to stay. The top of the poster read:

Room for Rent

It was an odd and very unprofessional poster. Everything was written in black marker. But she looked at the building and kind of liked the design of it. As she stared a man walked up to the fence beside her.

He asked, "Oh, you looking for a place to stay?"

She answered, "Well yeah...but, all the places around here are kinda full. You live here?"

"Yeah, and I've been looking for someone to rent out one of the rooms. Would you be interested?"

"It's just you living there?"

The man began to rub his neck and smile with his eyes closed, "Well actually ehehe...It's me and two other guys"

"Oh"

"But it's not what you think. We're really good guys if you get to know us. We won't try to do anything to you, promise."

"Okay. I believe you. So how much for the space?"

"Oh wow. You really just gonna say yes that easily? You didn't even see the room yet"

"I didn't say I was buying the room. I just said I believed you. Of course I wanna see the room and know the price too. I'm not stupid."

"Oh no I wasn't implying that at all."

"But also, if you are lying and you do try to do something to me, you'll be in for a surprise."

"Hmm, what's that supposed to mean? You're not a fe..."

"No, it just means that I'm not your stereotypical helpless woman in distress. I can protect myself."

"Wait, you're not a bandit are you?"

"Hmph, far from."

The man smiled excitingly, "Well now, I think you'll really fit in with us. Wanna take a look inside now?"

"Sure."

He put out his hand for her to shake, "Oh, I never got your name by the way."

She reaches out her hand and answered, "Barbra."

Two hours later, Barbra walked down the street from the room she had rented. No one was around. Her carry on was no longer in her hand. It was replaced by a big map with directions to another place she was looking to find.

She thought to herself, "Hmph, it's truly ironic that a man named Jack is gonna help me find another man named Jack. One is saving lives, while the other is destroying them. Truly a funny thing."

She slowly stopped walking and lifted the map in front of her face. She looked at it to make sure she was headed in the right direction.

Suddenly in the corner of her eye, she noticed a tall dark figure that wasn't there a second ago. Out of curiosity she glanced. The dark figure rushed at her with a starting speed of 30 mph. BAM! Barbra turned her elbow outward and the black creature ran straight into it. The figure fell to the ground and faded away.
