— GEORGIA —

"Bye! See you soon! Don't worry, I'll be safe!" I yelled out to my parents. They were meant to stay with Charlie and I for only 2 days but of course, that ended up being a whole week. My parents staying the week, rather than the 2 days maximum that was planned, cut out a week worth of my holiday time with Charlie so I made a deal with mum that Charlie and I could stay up here until New Year's Day.

Dad didn't know we were staying up here that long as I wouldn't dare to tell him, I knew he would say no straight away. I would have tried to argue that we shouldn't even need to be making a deal as it is OUR shack but they would argue back saying stuff like 'well you're still our daughter' and 'we're still your parents, therefore, we have the final say." You just have to love protective parents.

After saying goodbye to my parents and promising I will behave myself, I made my way back into the living room where Charlie flopped on the lounge. "Finally." She sighed and I made sure to hit her. "They weren't that bad!" She shot up into an upright position to stare at me. "Really!" I tried to protest but she wasn't having any of it. But it was true, that weren't that bad.

"You know what I mean G! Yeah, they are cool but we could have been tanning and hitting on so many more guys than we have done this week." I rolled my eyes, trying my hardest to stick up for my parents as they would have done for me if one of their friends were bagging me out, but I did kind of agree with her. "Well, I'm going to go for a ru-," "a run, yep, got it." Charlie cut me off before I finished, knowing now what I do whenever I get time. I smiled at her and got going.

I ran on the road this time, behind all of the shacks. This way is easier as your feet don't get stuck like the would in the sand and there are a lot fewer distractions, although I always end up finding someone or something to stop to think about. I ran at my normal pace, concentrating hard on my technique. The more I tried to focus on how I was running, the more my thoughts got in my way.

I ran from my shack, 149, to shack 121. The cream coloured shack looked warm and welcoming with a sign at the front with the number, 121, and a cartoon man fishing that had a basketball on the end of the line instead of a fish. I smiled at the sign, it looked stupid and poorly put together but it was creative, and I liked that.

"Hey, Katie!" I looked up startled, my eyes landing on Mitch, the good looking guy I met on the beach a week before. "Oh hey, it's Mitch right?" I was too distracted by his gorgeous white smile that I didn't even take notice to the fact he called me Katie. "Oh, it's not Katie," I said fiddling awkwardly with my hands. He put his hand up to his forehead, trying to remember my name. "Damn! Sorry, I've always been bad with names. You're Lauren, we had a bit of fun the other night." He winked at me and that was my cue to leave. "Oh yeah and you're a dick." I ran past him, nudging my shoulder on purposely hard against his.

"Georgia!" I ignored him. "Georgia." He grabbed my arm and pulled me in so my body was brushing against his. I looked up at his eyes, they were gorgeous. A type of light brown that was captivating and demanded f or your attention. I snapped out of my daze and coughed to break the silence before stepping back. "I obviously know who you are. I met you yesterday on the beach." He smiled as if it was a great achievement.
