Everyone was staring when Ana strode into the school, in her usual attair: dark washed skinny jeans, a loose shirt and kitten heeled boots. Her hair was straightened down and she wore a moderate amount of makeup. She strode in powerfully, ignoring everyone as she made her way to her locker where her ex boyfriend waited with Viola Green.
Viola. Ana's lips curled coldly as she stared at the dark haired beauty. She wore a tiny dress, high heels and enough makeup to make a nun scream.
John watched her with jaded blue eyes, cold and precise while Viola clung to his shirt like a flea. That's what she looked like to Ana, a flea. Ana's best friend, Danni, had labelled Viola as the Wicked Flea of the West, because while she was flea-ish, she was also wicked and cruel.
"Ana." Disappointment slathered John's tone like butter on bread. His hand rested on Viola's waist, tugging her closer. "This is disappointing."
"You're disappointing." Ana replied, shoving both of them out of the way as she opened her locker. The only thing that decorated the inside of her locker was a dark green mirror, two pictures (one of Danni and Ana at Junior Prom and the other of Ana and her older brother Jo) and a whiteboard.
"No, he isn't." Viola spoke up, eyes gazing up at John. "He's perfect."
"And you're fake." Danni slipped in between Ana and the new couple. "Move the FUCK out of the way. I'm trying to get into my locker, you fudgers."
Viola glared at her while John silently stepped away. His nostrils flared as anger was stressed in his eyes.
As he walked past her, his fingers danced over her shoulders and he murmured, "No one breaks up with John Terridon and gets away with it."
The words left her shivering and shaking.
