Christmas to me was one of the best holidays. Now no offense to anyone with different religious beliefs but it was without a doubt my favorite time of year. Finally it was December twentieth. Only five flippin' more days and I couldn't wait.
I busted through the heavy metal school doors, ready to start winter break, as the crisp winter air reached out pulling me forward into it. Soft little snow flakes fell from the sky as I watched in awe it was a truly beautiful sight.
"It's pretty isn't it?" Startled, I let out a tiny shriek. After realizing it was the hottest Junior at our school I quickly looked at the ground trying to hide the blush that slowly broke out across my cheeks. Luckily they were already tinted red from the chilly air so it wasn't too noticable.
"Yeah, it really is." I tried to talk in an even voice but it came out more like a whisper.
"Uhuh well I'll see you around. Have a good break, Sophie." He gave me a small way before shoving his hands into his pockets and slightly rushing to get into his comfortable car.
"You too!" I yelled to Ryan with a smile. He smiled back at me before closing his car door.

The smile lingered on my face as I trudged my way home through the growing layer of snow. Feeling a slight vibration coming from the back pocket of my jeans I pulled out my phone, Text Message; Momma: Hey honey I have to go pick up your Grandma from the airport. I left some things laying around please try and get home quick and finish cleaning for me! We should be back around 5:30. Be safe. Love you!
Groaning to myself I quickened my pace to get home before the snow covered the side walk beneath my feet. Especially with the icy layer growing too.
"Hey! You need a ride?" Ryan slowed his car next to me.
"Nah, it's okay my house isn't too far." I tired waving it off like it was no big deal even though my house was at least two more miles.
"Your bluffing." He smirked up at me.
"I'm serious. I'm fine."
"It's only one ride, come on."
A mini debate broke out in my head before I made my decision. His smirk grew into a full on smile as I approached the car.
Gently I slid into the passenger seat, making sure not to scratch anything in the process. His car looked so expensive. I was tempted to get back out and walk just so I didn't ruin anything.
For the most part we rode in silence. Only a few words were exchanged just as some small talk. As he pulled in front of my house he put the car in park waiting for me to get out.
"Thank you." I gathered my book bag from the floor.
"It's no problem, I live right down the street anyway." He shrugged of my thanks focusing back on the road ahead of us.
"Is there anyway I can make it up to you?"
"Like I said it's really no big deal."
"Please?" I know my pleading was a bit pathetic but I hated when other people did stuff for me without anything in return. It made me feel like a burden, like I was a weight on their sholders and I absolutely hated it. I know it doesn't make sense but, I have my reasons and may I remind you, you techinacly don't even know me.
"Sophie, it was a simple ride. Just let it go." He ran a hand through his hair letting out a deep sigh, obviously my queue to leave.
"Fine. But if you think of something, you know where I live." I got out the car and quickly approached my house trying to escape the cold air.
