"Sophie! Honey we're back can you come help us with Grandma's luggage?" She called to me her voice distant.

"Yeah Mom, I'm on my way!" I yelled back to her as I exited out of Facebook, shut my computer, and found my way downstairs to greet my Mom and Grandmother.

"Oh Sophie! You look so grown! Oh my Lisa honey you've raised a gorgeous daughter!" My grandmother sang out while pulling me into a bone crushing hug. Just as I was running out of oxygen she released me to scurry out of the kitchen and into the rest of the house. Boy was my grandma energetic no wonder my grandpa doesn't travel with her much, even to come see his only grand-kids.

My mom let out an exasperated sigh as she checked her watch, "Hey honey, I'm not gonna be able to make it down to the school to pick up Jordan from after school care do you think you can make it down there by 6?"

I glanced at the wall clock hanging just above the pantry it read, 5:40 P.M.

"How am I suppose to make it to the elementary school in twenty minutes?"

"Here! Drive safe." She threw me her car keys before lugging her way out of the kitchen to find my grandma without a second glance in my direction.

In just under twenty minutes I was safely pulling up at my brothers elementary school.

"SOPHIE!" Jordan jumped up and down excitedly waving me over.

"Hey little man! You ready to go home?" I crouched down next to him ruffling his hair as he nodded happily at me, "alright let me go talk to your teacher and then we can leave, stay right here okay." I got up from my squatting position and made my way over to the only teacher in sight.

Once I officially checked my brother out from school I quickly picked up the little five year old and found my way to the schools entrance while he animatedly told me about his eventful day. Unable to see beyond the double glass doors I pushed them open without a second thought, well that was until the doors hit a body on the other side sending them bouncing back towards Jordan and me.

"Ouccchhh." The deep voice grunted out.

"Oh my gosh! I am so so so sorry!" I hurriedly put Jordan down and rushed into the cold to help the poor man I had just injured. "Are you okay?"

"Huh? Oh yeah I'm-"

"Ryan?" I grabbed his elbow pulling him to his feet. "I am so sorry! Here lets get out of this cold." I turned around just as another clueless person from the inside pushed the door outward causing what just happened to Ryan to happen to me.

I landed on my bum with a loud umph.

"Oh sweetie! I am sorry! Are you alright?" Jordan's teacher rushed to my side immeditaly as Ryan continued to laugh his butt off at my fall.

"Yes, I'm fine Mrs. Greene, thank you." I bushed the icy snow of my backside as I rose to my feet.

"Do you kids need a ride?" She asked motioning to my brother, Ryan, and me all at once. I nodded rejecting her offer.

"Oh no thats alright I drove here. We were just on our way out."

"Okay dear just make sure you get home quick the weather calls for a massive snow storm tonight.Wouldn't want to get stuck out in this," she spoke glancing up at the darkening clouds around us blocking any moonlight from shinning through, "oh and Ryan Bella is waiting inside next to Jordan for you."

"Oh goodness look at the time I have to get going. Have a safe holiday kids!" She waved rushing to her car ready to escape this cold.

"You too!" Ryan called, speaking for the first time since his laugh attack subsided, while we both waved to her retreating figure.

"Sophie! Can we go home now?" Jordan whined from the other side of the door.

"Yeah Jord we'll leave in a minute okay." I turned back to face Ryan, "do you need a lift home?"

"Uhm, actually that would be a big help. As long as my sister can come."

"No, Ryan she has to stay here all by herself... Of course she can come!"  He smiled at my words as I shuffled half my body in the door.

"Okay who's ready to go home?" I smiled down at the two kids as they jumped out of the chairs and ran happily to me.
