*****
The early morning sun seeped through my sheer white curtains drawing me out of my peaceful slumber. Cracking open one eye, I adjusted to the brightness before opening the other.
The burning sun reflected off my light violet painted walls, in my opinion, creating too much light in my room at such an early hour. I carefully picked my head up off my pillow enough where I could easily read the clock on my bed side table, well at least it would have been easy if I could actually see without the help of my contacts or glasses. But since I could not, I decided I probably didn't even want to know at what hour I woke to. Instead, my eyelids slowly began to dropped to their own accord and my body shifted comfortably into another light sleep.
Bzz. Bzzz. Bzzzz.
My phone vibrated against the wood of my dresser, where it was charging.
"Ughhh!" I groaned out loudly as I rolled over, shoving my head deeper into my fluffy pillow.
"Someone sounds happy." Grandma knocked on the door before pushing it open with her elbow and entered my room, smiling her big crazy smile, with one mug in each of her bony hands. Carefully she handed me one of the warm mugs before grabbing my phone and climbing onto the end of my bed as I sat up giving her more sitting room. "Looks like someone is eager to talk to you this morning." She wiggled her eye brows suggestively before throwing my phone at me, without warning.
Bad idea.
My barely 6 month old gold iPhone 5s landed perfectly in my steaming mug of hot chocolate.
"Ah!" I gasp screamed, half at the hot chocolate that splash out of the mug and was currently burning a hole through my skin and the other half at the fact that, without a doubt, my phone was unrepeatable.
"Whats wrong?!" Mom ran through the door way straight to my side within ten seconds of my scream, "are you hurt? What happened? Sophie? Mom! Whats going on?" She asked examining the parts of my body that were exposed which consisted of my neck and head.
"My.My phone." I pulled the destroyed piece of plastic from the still burning hot liquid that filled the Santa Clause mug I was holding.
"Oh my gosh! Sophie don't scare me like that!" She breathed out a shaky sigh, visibly relaxing. "I swear you kids are going to cause me to grey early." She smoothed down her hair.
"Mom! I am so sorry! I know you paid a lot for this I promise I'll buy myself a new one. I'm sorry for being so irresponsible and wasting your money by braking this one!" I cried feeling worse when her face soften to an expression of guilt. I ruined a perfectly good phone. I am the worst daughter ever.
"Oh no Sophie honey its okay! It was just an accident I will buy you a new one! We can go get it today actually. Which reminds me, I still need to do some Christmas shopping so this all works out. As soon as were all ready we can head out okay? Sophie can I count on you to make sure Jordan gets ready?" She released me from her side hug and exited my room once me and Grandma agreed with her plan.
"Sorry about that sweetie. I forgot about what a killer throw I had." She mocked the way a pitcher throws a baseball as she spoke. I laughed in response, "well I guess I better go finish pullin' myself together, hey do you want some more hot chocolate? There's a bunch downstairs." She asked pushing herself off my bed.
"No thanks I'm okay." I smiled at her, "hey grandma?" I asked before she was completely through the door.
'Mhhhm," she turned half way to face me.
"What did Ryan say?"

"Hey, Jord. Whatcha doin?" I entered the little guy's room, watching him play with his toy cars.
"Sophie! Your just in time we're about to have a big race! Come here!" He spoke vividly, looking at me with his big round eyes.
"Actually Bud, we have to get you ready for the day right now. How about we have the race tonight with Mom and Grandma and maybe even Brice?" I sat on his little race car bed him standing in front of me examining me as I spoke.
"Why can't we do it now?" He asked disappointment evident in his voice.
"Because its only us right now. Don't you want a lot of people to be here for the race?" I gave him an encouraging smile, hoping he'd take the bait.
"I guess.." He shrugged his shoulders, "hey! Can I invite Haley to come watch it too?" He gave me a wide, toothy smile showing off the little holes where his baby teeth had already fallen out.
"As long as you go brush your teeth while I get you something warm to wear. Okay?"
"Okay!" He gave me a quick hug before hauling butt out of his room and into the bathroom adjacent to it.
I let out a little laugh at my adorable little brother.
Looks like I'm not the only Denmark who has a crush on a fellow Stuart.
Good luck with that one little man.
