(A/N: Luke's serious face, you'll find out why)
My phone was still ringing and Ash and Melissa were giving me suspicious glances. I grabbed my phone and looked at it to see Luke was calling me. Melis and Ash were still staring at me, so I gave them a nervous and 'oh so innocent' smile while answering my phone.
"Hey baby, what's up?" I said to Luke and walked back, further into the kitchen.
"Hey Kim. I- Uhm... I need to see you... Where are you now?" He said to me.
"Uhm, I'm in your kitchen... actually." I said with a small smile. I figured Luke was probably just in his room, having one of his lazy days. He didn't have them a lot, but once in a while he would have a day where he would just watch some tv, play some games or even read a little. He just needs that sometimes, just like we all do; just a day for himself in which he has enough space to think and reminisce on who he truly is, was and will be.
I admired him for having such a day, honestly.
"What? You mean in our apartment? Why?" He asked me, sounding more annoyed than curious.
"I uhh... Well, there was this thing with Ashton and Melissa, so I uhh, helped them...? Or something?" I tried to explain it, but it all just sounded like a hustle that came right of this... This thing that I apparently call my head.
"Right... So, shall I go downstairs to the kitchen or do you want to come up here in my room?" He asked me. I told him that I was already on my way to his room, so we both hung up.
When I hung up, I quickly glanced into the living room, where I no longer saw Ashton and Melissa sitting. I shrugged and walked away, heading to my boyfriend's room. It still sounded weird to say that to be honest.
When I came to his door, it was as if the earth was no longer moving, the time stood still as well and everything was dead silent. After that, all seemed to go in slow motion. I slowly opened the door, slowly walked into his room and then slowly closed the door, after which I slowly turned around and walked towards his bed. I saw him lying there with a pained expression on his face and when he looked up to me, a sad smile formed on his face.
He sat up, fiddling a bit with his fingers until he patted the spot on his bed next to him as an invitation for me to sit there, which I did. "Hey Kim," He began softly. "Please, tell me; how long have we been together now?"
I thought for a while and then answered with "In two days it will be three weeks."
"Okay, and in those weeks, how many times have we seen each other, hang out together, went on dates, etcetera?" He asked and it seems he was obviously hinting at something serious.
"Well, our first date, of course, and- Uhm..." I glanced around me, thinking even harder. "Uhh..." Suddenly an awkward silence filled the room and there was no escape from it. Suddenly it hit me, hard.
In those 3 weeks Luke and I had been a couple, we had seen each other 1 time and that was our first date. Of course, it had been a whole day, leaving early in the morning and coming home again somewhere in the evening, but that couldn't possibly be enough for the first 3 weeks of our relationship, could it?!
In all those stories, made up or even in real life, you hear and see so many people talking and blabbing about their so-called honeymoon phase and how lovey-dovey they are and how sick their friends get of it, how the couples wouldn't let go of each other and couldn't say goodbye and it all went on.
And then here we are, Luke and I, 3 weeks in our relationship and we saw each other 1 day. It's really sad if you think about it. We should be all over each other! In a good way of course, not like we want to lick each other's faces the whole time or something gross like that. Although, who wouldn't want to lick his face? I mean, it's gorgeous! His soft skin, with here and there a few shy freckles around his nose and under his eyes, that cute button nose that I could just literally 'boop' all day...
