I don't get introduced to my other mentor, Igual until we enter the building. Nora will be giving us the impartial advice on how to stay alive and Igual will be focusing on the combat part making sure were both skilled and confident with a number of weapons.
We get a tour around the apartment well be staying in. 'Wow' is all I can think of while looking around. I'm astonished by how spotless the place is. everything is shining, like all the furniture is brand new. Its so modern compared to my run down, wooden furniture back home. I'm amazed by this place but never do i let it show. The last thing I want to do is let them think I'm enjoying being here.
We're sat down at the long dining table mounted with different foods. There's anything you could imagine here and more. I have to admit, I am starving so I decide to follow my greedy eyes and choose a plate bigger than my head. I decide to just stick to a few different foods but every time I pick up my last peice of food I get distracted and find another appetising meal. When I'm finished I have about 6 different types of food lying piled on top of one another, looking like its about to tip.
I start with the turkey. I dip it into the creamy orange sauce, not having a clue what is it and I moan in delight. I've only had a few bites and I move on the lamb, the succulent, moist lamb, cooked to perfection. I dip it in the same sauce but it doesn't have the same effect. I haven't even finished my plate but my stomach can't hold anymore. I lean back I'm my chair and exhale heavily. "Eyes too big your belly huh?" Igual asks and giggles. He offers me desert - probably sarcastically but I refuse it straight away and ask for a hot water bottle instead and laugh.
We joke around for a bit then we all leave once everyone's finished desert. Ash and I's rooms are in the same corridor so we walk out together in silence. were about to part ways and I start appologising to him. "Look, I'm really sorry for what I said in the train, it wasn't necessary." He turns to face me and stands closer than what is needed. I always thought he was handsome but his eyes are more beautiful than all of him together.
He stares right at me with those sparkling deep brown eyes. "It's alright . I understand. The reapings can be a stressful day for anyone, no matter how brave you are." I'm still gazing into his eyes and I forget where I even am. "Friends?" i question. "friends." he repeats with a sly yet sexy smirk. we shake hands, still smiling then leave to our rooms.
When I enter my room, I find a fluffy hot water bottle lying on my pillow. I touch it and it is indeed burning hot, but the kind of hot you can stand and is comforting. I fall asleep almost instantly, hugging my hot water bottle. I only have one last thought before I fall asleep.
I have an ally already.
