Nobody But You-A Vic Mensa Fan Fic

A very special project

Hi everybody and welcome to our novel!

Everything started last September when I began to think about writing a new story on Wattpad. Some of you may know me for Silver Eyes, the first novel that I'm writing in English here on Wattpad. Well, I will continue updating Silver Eyes, of course, this novel has made me met awesome people here, wattpad friends are of great help and support and we love to read each others books. But if you are a writer, you know how ideas keep popping in our heads yelling to us, demanding attention, and the idea of this novel is one of them.

Firstly, I thought of writing about friendship. There are many romances, I love reading and writing them, but friendship is as important as a romantic relationship, and as you might know, sometimes is pretty easy to mistake both, so we can have both in the same story( feelings are always turning up without measuring the consecuences). Basically, I wanted to write about this kind of friends that met in childhood but for some circumstance never encounter again. That was the first concept for that novel.

Some weeks ago, my friend Sara recommended that I should listen to a rap singer called Vic Mensa. We usually exchange music and we have very similar taste so if she was recommending him to me, that meant this guy was great. And, in fact, I ended up thinking Vic mensa is a great artist.

By his music you can see how honest he is. He goes to the point, direct, straight forward. He speaks about very raw and controversial topics in a way that hits you, that turns on your mechanisms and make you think. People in this generation seem like they have forgotten to think by themselves and they just keep being fed by the news in Tv, Twitter, instagram, or whatever social network, and automatically this new who was the hottest one minute ago is replaced by the new of, for example, a new Iphone coming next month and so on ...What I try to say is that, sometimes, there are people that say ''Is enough!'' and they stop following what media, public celebrities or even your narrow-minded neighbour is trying to sell you, and one of the examples of this kind of young people is Vic mensa. He can be just a rap singer but what he tells in his lyrics can be more understandable, relatable, thoughtful and truthful that all the news published on the internet.

Instanly I told my friend I was considering to write a new novel and What if one of her favourite artist was its protagonist? She loved the idea and consequently I told her that she could join the project if she wanted. She said yes! and the rest is history...Now she has just opened a Wattpad account and we are going to collaborate together writing this novel. That's very exciting for me, given that I've never written a story with anyone else. The best we can do is to have fun making known a good artist through a fictional story. It can be considered as a kind of fan fic, because we use real names of people and places, but in the end is all made up. It's a way of expanding our imagination which is always so rewarding and enjoyable at the same time some topics are portrayed.
