Chapter 1:A Death

I'm running in the total blackness. Nothing around me. All except the white glowing thing or creature coming behind me. No. Chasing is the right word not coming. It isn't even running but it still catches up. It just well stands there and it gets closer.

I know that I should scream but it doesn't help. The reason why is because it just brings blood. My blood. Then the amount of the blood I lose just slows me.

My heart beats wildly. That's when something colder than ice touches my shoulder. I freeze. So does my heart.

I turn to see the white glowing figure. So close. Touching my arm with the claws in the place of hands. I scream the loudest ear bleeding my body allows.

That's when I break free to the surface. I jolt awake. My breaths coming short and my heart pounding so hard against my chest it hurts. I look to see my whole body covered in sticky wet sweat.

“Oh! It was just a dream.” I say calming myself. So I just get up and head toward the bathroom. When I look in the mirror I see me soaking wet with sweat.

“Good God! Oh! I mean good gosh! I'm a bloody mess!” I almost yell at me. My haystack hair wasn't blonde anymore because it was wet with my sweat. My blue eyes still wide with fear of the dream. My narrow nose breathing all it can. My perfect (I've been told by a lot of guys that kissed me) mouth frowning.

My gaze confirms that I am still Ruby Santos. A seventeen year old girl that owns her dead perished parents house. After a double-take my gaze points at the shower and says now or else.

As I get out of the shower I warp myself in a towel and walk into from my bedroom's bathroom. I change into my pair of almost black jeans and my shirt that says “say hello to my big attitude problem” (which I do not have) that one is one of my favorites. I go threw my normal morning routine and held to my red mustang.

Hold on a sec. Where am I going? So I pull out my phone. I only got the answering machine on my friend K. That's weird. She always answers. Oh well. Next I call my friend Aubrey.

“Hello?” she answers with a tired, wary, and weak voice. Did I wake her? Or is it something else?

“Hey Aubrey. Are you okay? Did you just wake up? I'm sorry if I did I mean it is ten so, yea.?” I ask worrying about her.

“No you are ok. I didn't just wake up so you are ok there, but um can you come over?” She asks trying to assure me. Then it hits me. She has been crying. I hope everything isn't too bad.

“Yea I'll be there in like ten. Kay? Bye.” I say and hang up. So I start the engine of my beautiful mustang purr and head over.

When I get there to Aubrey's house I find a cop car in front. Oh crap this can not be good at all. So I hop out of my mudstang(My family called it that ever since I brought it home from being stuck in the mud) and run fearful to the door. I knock quickly still

worried for my friend.

Instead of Aubrey, a cop answered the door. Then he asks ”Hello,Who might you be?”

I gaze at his brown straight short hair and his green eyes thinking that his age is either twenty two or twenty three. Then say “I am Ruby Santos and I'm here to see my friend Aubrey Anderson.”

“Fine. Okay, she is in the den.” He tells me but when I try to get past him he puts his hand on my shoulder and says “Where are your parents and hers?”

Mine are dead. They perished in a fire when I was fifteen.” I lie about my parents dieing when I was fifteen. They died when I was seven and I continued to run away to my parents (or my house now) house and wouldn't go to the orphanage. They gave up when I was fourteen.
