Ryan began opening his eyes. The light was blinding, and he let out a small groan. Everyone turned to look at him. Tears started forming in Matt's eyes.
"Holy shit! You're awake! Are you ok? Do you need anything?" Matt began asking questions rapidly, but lowered his voice when he saw Ryan wince. "Fuck- sorry. You ok, though? Do you need water?" Matt asked a bit more quiet this time. Ryan opened his mouth to reply, but he winced again at how dry his throat was. Matt chuckled slightly. "I'll take that as a yes to water." Ryan smiled gratefully at him in reply. Matt got up and walked outside to get a cup of water and returned quickly. He handed it to Ryan, who was now sitting up, and he began chugging the water.
"Thanks Matt," Ryan said, handing the cup back to Matt who set it on the bedside table.
"No problem man. You good now?" Ryan nodded and stopped and out his hand to his neck. "You injured your neck?" Another nod. "What else did you injure?" Ryan pulled his hand to his left leg, which had a cast over it. He moved his hand to the left side of his face, which revealed bandages that Matt didn't notice until now. Matt leaned over and kissed Ryan's right cheek in a comforting gesture. Ryan blushed and Matt chuckled. Jack and Mark awed from the other side of the room. Matt and Ryan turned to look at them, Matt wielding a smug expression and Ryan's face burning up even further.
Jack took note of Ryan's bruises before turning back to Mark. Mark had reasonably less injuries but still had some bandages and a cast on his right arm.
"You have some injuries as well, huh?" Mark jumped at the sound of Jack's voice and nodded.
"Took you a while to realize," Mark chuckled. Jack punched him in his slightly less injured arm. Mark faked hurt and fell over comically slow.
"Fifty million years later he touches the pillow." Jack said with a sarcastic tone. Mark rolled his eyes and sat up.
"I don't need your fucking sass man."
"But you're getting it anyways."
"Fair enough."
