Norbert the Dragon

Sarafina's POV

We had arrived back at Hogwarts and the boys had no luck finding out who Flamel is.  I haven't talked to Draco since we got back from break to thank him for the necklace. I wore it everyday, but kept it hidden from others as the crest on it was the Malfoy family crest.I knew my family and friends wouldn't like it. 

One morning when we were at breakfast Ron was looking at his chocolate frog card collection. When he got Dumbledore again and he gave it to Harry. "I found him!" Harry declared "I found Flamel I told you I had seen the name before. It was on the train when I got my first chocolate frog card" he stated.

Hermione and I looked at each other before standing up "follow us" we said before running to the common room. The boys followed us and Hermione went to get the book we had borrowed from the library weeks ago for light reading. We all read about Nicolas Flamel and determined that Fluffy was guarding the Philosopher's Stone.

But we couldn't figure out want else could be guarding it besides Fluffy. So we decided to go down to Hagrid's for some tea after dark. We used Harry's new invisibility cloak he got at Christmas. Hermione and I managed to sweet talk Hagrid into revealing the names of the teachers that were helping protect the stone. There was himself, Sprout, Flitwick, McGonagall, Quirrell, Snape and Dumbledore himself.

"Hagrid can we open a window or something?" Harry asked afterwards. I agreed it was boiling in the hut.

"Afraid not Harry have to keep the place hot" Hagrid stated. He went over to the fireplace to look in a cauldron. We got up to follow him and see want he was looking at.

"Is that an egg?" Ron asked in awe and Hagrid nodded his head.

"That's not just an egg Ron, it's a dragons egg" I stated.

"A Norwegian Ridge-Back egg to be process" Hagrid told us happily.

(few days later)

The egg was suppose to hatch tonight and we were all going to watch. Hermione was hesitated, but we managed to persuade he to come with us. So now we sat around Hagrid's table waiting for the egg to hatch. It finally hatched with a bang and the egg shells went every where.

"What do baby dragons ate?" Hermione asked Hagrid.

"I have to feed him brandy mixed with chicken blood every half an hour" he told us pointing to a book. He then patted the dragon under it's chin saying "look he knows his mummy, hello there Norbert." Hagrid saw the look on our faces and said "his got to have a name don't he."

"Whose that?" Hagrid asked when he looked out the window. We turned around to see gray eyes disappear and someone run up to the castle. Harry said ti was Draco.

"His seen Norbert you have get rid of him Hagrid or you'll be in big trouble" Hermione stated.

"I can't his just a baby he can't look after himself" Hagrid told us.

"Charlie" Harry and I said looking at Ron.

"I'm Ron' he told us.

"No our brother you idiot he works with dragons in Romania. We could send Norbert to him" I stated. It took some convincing but Hagrid agreed to do it in the end. I sent Charlie a letter as soon as we got back to the common room. We got a reply from him the next day with his plan to give Norbert to his friends Saturday night at the Astronomy tower. I sent back a reply saying we'd be there.

Then we went to tell Hagrid who was sad about Norbert leaving. But said he'd build a crate that Norbert could be carried in. We then took turns looking after Norbert with Hagrid over the week.

(Saturday)

"He knows, Malfoy knows we are getting rid of Norbert tonight" Ron said. "He borrowed a book of mine while I was in the hospital wing. It had Charlie's letter inside it" he told us.

"We can't change the plan now Harry and I are still taking Norbert tonight under the cloak" I stated firmly. It was time to leave and Harry helped me carry the crate with Norbert inside it to the tower. We saw Malfoy get detention from Filch and Harry grinned happily.

When we saw Charlie's friends we took the cloak off so that they could see us. Two of his friends tied the crate between their brooms. While his other friend told us Charlie said 'hi'. Once they left we went down the steps forgetting the cloak. And were caught by McGonagall who had caught Neville. We all got detention and fifty points each taken from us. Worse we had to serve detention with Malfoy tomorrow night.
