Sarafina Carmen Weasley: Book 1

House Cup and Train Ride Home

Sarafina's POV

It was time for the end of year feast and for the house cup to be awarded. Gryffindor had come dead last and Harry finally got out of the hospital wing. We  all went to the feast together and sat at together at the Gryffindor table. Dumbledore stood up to announce the winner of the house cup for the year.

"The house cup needs awarding before we eat our feast" he stated. "The scores stand as follows, Gryffindor in fourth place with 312 points. Hufflepuff in third with 352 points followed by Ravenclaw in second place with 426 points. And in first place with 472 points Slytherin house" he declared.

The Slytherin table erupted into applause about winning. "Yes well done Slytherin, however recent events must be taken into account" Dumbledore stated. "As it is, I have a few last minute points to award" he told us. "First to Mr Ronald Weasley for the best game of chess Hogwarts has seen in many years 40 points" he stated. "Secondly to Miss Hermione Granger and Miss Weasley for a cool use of intellect when others were in grave peril. 30 points each" he informed the school.

I heard Percy telling the other prefects about Ron and I from further down the table. "Next to Mr Harry Potter for pure nerve and outstanding courage. I award him 60 points" Dumbledore stated and the table roared happily.

"We're tied with Slytherin" Hermione and I told the other Gryffindors.

"Finally it takes a great deal of courage to stand up to your enemies. But a great deal more to stand up to your friends" Dumbledore told us. "I award ten points to Neville Longbottom" he stated. Neville disappeared under a pail of Gryffindors thanking him. "Assuming my calculations are correct I believe a change of decoration is in order" Dumbledore said. He clapped his hands waving them in the air and the Slytherin banners turned into Gryffindor ones instead.

I saw Snape give McGonagall the house cup and she was in tears of happiness. Hermione, Harry, Ron, Neville and I were cheered by everyone. Except for Slytherin, who all looked disheartened about being second. I saw Draco give me a small smile before he turned away to ate the feast that had appeared.

(the next day)

We had just boarded the train and Harry was looking at a photo album Hagrid gave him of his parents. I went to change out of my school robes and ran into Draco on the way back. He saw my necklace and smirked at me. "We really need to stop meeting like this" I told him putting the necklace out of sight.

"I see you like the necklace I gave you for Christmas" he stated. "It suits you, why don't you let people see it?" he asked stepping closer.

"It has your family crest on it" I stated as I backed away from him. "I don't think my friends would be happy about it" I told him. "Why did you give it to me?" I asked.

"My mother gave it to me saying to give it to the girl that caught my eye for Christmas" he stated plainly. I blushed and he noticed it as he stepped closer backing my into a wall. "I think you and are going to be good friends Sarafina. But lets keep it a secret ok" he told me in a whisper.

I nodded my head unable to speak and he chuckled. He kissed my cheek before backing away from me. "I'll see you next year Sarafina" he promised walking a way.

"Goodbye Draco" I said quietly touching my cheek blushing like mad. Then went back to my compartment to see the food trolley had arrived. Hermione gave me a pumpkin pasty as I sat beside her. I nibbled on it as I patted a sleeping Yuki beside me. Once we reached the station we said our goodbyes and my family & I went back home to the Burrow.
