He Beleives In Him

On the deck of the ship sailing through the night sky, Keith was standing there leaning on the railing as he watched the many stars pass by. His hair tied back and his eyes focused on nothing particular. He came on this expedition to find treasure planet to prove he could do something right. He wanted to prove to his adoptive mother that he wasn't a screw up.

He sighed lightly, the cold air flowing from his sigh. He tensed slightly when he felt a mechanical hand touch his shoulder."Keith..What're you doing up so late? You should be resting." Keith turned his head to see the cyborg Shiro."....Sorry...I just..it's hard to sleep." Keith said as he pulled the collar of his own jacket more over his cheeks to hide his small blush. He had only been on the ship for ten days and built quiet the affection towards Shiro or rather live at first sight that grew stronger day by day.

Shiro brought Keith into his embrace."Tell me..What's on your mind?" He asked in a soft toned voice. Keith really felt safe oddly enough."...I just..don't want to be a failure." Shiro listened to him intently."...I want to show I'm not a screw up, that I can accomplish things..that's why I'm even here in the first place.." he suddenly started to cry. He buried his face into shiro's chest and hugged him back.

Shiro smiled sympathetically."...Lad..it's alright.." he reassured him and pulled him in close."You have the makings of greatness in you, no doubt about it." Shiro lifted up Keith's chin with care."You have a fire in your eyes that won't go out, ever." Keith's blush spread up to the tips of his ears as he felt shiro's metallic thumb stroke his cheek."You really think so?.." He muttered. Shiro leaned in looking into Keith's violet eyes with his gray ones."I know so."

Keith smiled as Shiro leaned in to place his lips against Keith's. It was warm and passionate. Keith held on as he closed his eyes, relishing in the kiss. Shiro's eyes were barely open, until they shut closed. The kiss lasted awhile until they both needed to breath. Shiro held Keith's hand."Let's go get some sleep. We'll need it for our journey ahead." Keith nodded with a small smile."Alright." They went back to their  hammocks to rest the night away till morning came.
