Katie's POV
"Oh my God! You just proposed to me! WOW." I was shocked. Little did I know I'd be proposed to on my High School graduation day. Did I mind being asked to marry a man at this age? No. We'd been dating since we were both freshman and sophomores. Oh God. Sam's starting to tear up. "No no, hon!" I said wrapping my arms around his waist then moving them up. "Katie. I just want you to know how much I love and that I want to be with you till my last day. I'm so glad I have you here with me." "Me too, babe. I'll always love you."
"Ms--," I cut myself off, remembering I haven't called Sam's mom Ms. Matthews in a long time. "Mom. And mom. Come here!" I said, waving my arms towards me. Signaling them to come in for a hug. We gave each other a big hug and walked a bit while I explained my wedding plans. Sam met up with his friend, Preston, while us ladies went for a walk. "Wow. That'll be one easy wedding." "Oh I hope so. I'm not into big weddings. So much money spent on one day that could've been saved for something else. "I get you on that one," Said Sam's mom. "It can be a lot of money spent on things you could've used on a down payment or horses." She added in, laughing. "I strongly agreed. "Whatever makes you happy, hon." My mom said. "I'll be happy with whatever. Just as long as you both are there."
It was now 7:10 p.m. and Sam and I went out to the barn to talk. Seems he added in a little something. Strings of lights with big bulbs. It lit up the barn quite beautifully. "That's not it you know." He said taking my hand to one of the stalls. "SAM. WHAT IS THIS? WHEN DID YOU?!" I said with excitement pouring out of my mouth. It was a momma miniature and her foal. "Sam! When did you get them?" "I was talking to Preston the other day and he said he had a momma expecting a foal but they were gonna sell them both since they were gonna move to a smaller place. He said I could have them for free." "Wow! They're so cute!" "Is it a boy or a girl?" "Oh it's a boy alright. Mr. Spunky. That's not his name of course but he sure is energetic." "Awe. Hmm. How about Spartan?" "Cool name. Like that one. Spartan it is."
