A ruined Day

After the whole ordeal with Troy, it was lunch period and everyone came back from their lessons. Me and Sean both agreed that it would be best not to tell the others what had happened just half an hour previously. We all talked about random things as normal and exchanged the odd pun but in the back of my mind, there was still questions that I wanted to be answered and that feeling of what was going to happen next.

I tried as hard as  could to hide this from the others, but I could see that Sam had started to notice something different about me and Sean. She looked at both of us and then asked "So what did you two do in study then? Is everything okay with you two?" I put on a smile and looked over to Sean, he flicked his hair so that it covered the cut from earlier this morning.

I turned back to Sam and replied; "everything's fine. Sean helped me do some biology work and I tried to help him with some history. Nothing much happened" Sam looked sceptical but accepted it anyway as she joined Elija and Alice in conversation about the events happening next week.

I will skip over what happened in my History class as nothing happened. When the 2 hour lesson finally did finish, I went to my locker to get my folders needed to do my homework to find that Sean, Alice and Caya where waiting for me. I smiled when I looked at them and said "Haven't you three left for home yet?" Alice shook her head and replied "No, we were going to walk home with you. You know just in case..." She stopped and waited as I retrieved my stuff from my rather crammed locker. I slung my bag over my shoulder and shut my locker door removing the key and leaving.

Sean looked over and asked "Are you going to be okay with that bag?" I nodded and walked in the direction of the campus halls where I stayed, Alice Sean and Caya following. Eventually we got to a fork in the path where Alice and Caya go the opposite direction to head home. Before she turned to leave, I was nearly rugby tackled as Alice wrapped her arms around my body hugging me as she said "I am so sorry any of this keeps happening to you Amber. If you have any issues you know you can ring me or just come over, my parents don't mind and I am sure they will understand." I hugged her back and thanked her for the offer before we separated down the paths.

Me and Sean carried on down the path for a while before he spoke. "So. How is your chest? I am surprised that you didn't pass out from the pressure" I rubbed at my ribs finding only pain. I turned and replied to him "Its bearable, but I won't be surprised if my chest turns out to be purple or have a few cracked ribs. How are you? Jax gave you quite a beating and you got smashed on the head before that as well."

He shrugged his shoulders and a smile crept onto his face as he spoke "At least your okay now, that's all that matters Amber" I felt all warm inside and my cheeks began to blush. Someone really cared about me, I haven't felt this way since... I noticed that the campus accommodation block was coming nearer and soon I would be parting with Sean. We walked in silence again until we reached the doors to the block and entered onto the ground floor. As we walked along the corridor I had a small flash back at the spot where Troy chocked me to the floor this morning, I shrugged it off and carried on until I reached my room.

I was searching in my bag for my keys to open the door when the strap on my bag broke, today could not get any worse could it? I knelt down to where all of my folders had opened up onto the floor and started gathering the paper in my arms. Going to grab my history folder I found Sean's warm hand instead, we stood up in sync and he handed my folder to me. He bent back down to the floor and picked something up and handed it to me "Here are your Keys, do you want me to open the door for you?" I nodded at him and he unlocked my door and held it open as I struggled inside with my mountain of folders and paperwork.

I dumped the mass of paper onto my desk and chucked my broken bag onto the bed frustrated as the days events. Sean was still at the door looking in. I turned and asked him "Do you want to come in? Do excuse the mess here and there but no one really comes in here" he smiled and shut the door behind him and started looking around.

I started to reassemble my folders when I realised I am going to need another bag to put these in. I went over to my wardrobe and tugged at a bag that was on top only to make more of a mess when a few boxes came down with it. I started puting the boxes back when I found one with my name on it, but not in english.

There was ancient ruines on the box spelling my name. I don't remember that being there and I never write in ruines any more. I looked at the box, perplexed at its origins then i remembered Sean was still here. I quickley turned to face him and said "Sorry its just....it has been a long day"

He nodded at me and walked over to the door and replied "Its okay, its been a long day for both of us. I'll give you some space and see you tommorow Amber" A sudden rush came over me, I didn't want him to leave. Everyone who ever cared about me left,  I have always been alone.

I hastely said "Wait Sean! Please don't go, not just yet" he stepped away from the door and put his bag on the floor. I walked closer to him until we were inches apart and I could feel my body temperature rising, getting hotter by the second. I was swelling with emotion and my heart was pounding in my chest as I stared longingly into his eyes. This is not the time! I quickly snapped out of my trance and quietly said "Thank you" he grinned and my face lit up.

I turned round to see that the boxes where still on the floor. Sean helped me put them all back on top of my wardrobe, all but one box. I had put the mystery box on my bed and me and Sean where inspecting it. I heard Sean say something as he picked at the side of the box "Amber there is something here and it has the same scribbles on it as the box" He handed me a tattered envelope that again had my name in ruins on the front. I sat down on the bed next to the box and Sean stood in front of me.

I turned the envelope over and began to tear at the seal.
