-Julie-

I sat in a clearing in the middle of the woods. The trees were tall and healthy, untouched by the big city next to them. Beautiful wild flowers bloomed in the setting sun. A gentle breeze swept through, stirring the flowers. I brushed my long hair out of my face and smiled at this almost fairy tale scene. I looked to my side, wanting to share the scene with the man who brought me here. He was starting blankly ahead with his storm grey eyes, but he felt my gaze. His eyes locked with mine.

"Viktor," I said. He was already mezmorized by my eyes though. Most people were, but not as intensely as he was. Everyone marveled at the color they were. Green. Not the brown, neutral green that was normal. They were a bright, vibrant green that almost seemed to glow. I looked away from him, slightly blushing.

"Julie," he finally replied. "The sun has set."

I gazed upward. The sun, indeed, had set. Stars now twinkled in the dark sky, almost blacked out by the bright, full moon. Another gentle breeze came, but the night air had a chill to it and a shivered slightly. I looked back at Viktor. He was still staring at me with his stormy eyes. His gloved hands toyed with a button on his leather jacket; it was a gesture that was normal for him. I think he just liked to keep his hands busy.

"The moon..." I trailed of and looked back up at its dazzling sight.

"A special moon," he whispered, "in a special place."

I felt his hand caress my cheek and pull me to look at him. I smiled again, liking the warmth of his fingers. He had removed his gloves, which was very unusual for him. It was also unusual for him to touch me in any way other than hand holding. So I leaned into his hand and closed my eyes, wanting to enjoy this small show of affection he was giving me.

A sharp pain soon interrupted my peace though. It felt like something was digging into my eye, trying to pull it out. My other eye flew open and I screamed in agony. I tried to jerk back, but there was something holding my head tightly in place like iron. I then realized it was Viktor. His finger was clawing at my eye. I felt blood run down my cheek and I heard the sick sucking noise of my eye popping out of my eye socket before I felt the crippling pain. The vision in my other eye blurred for a moment. I screamed and pushed at his chest, but he was too strong. My eye hung by a fleshy chord now. With one last yank, he tore it all the way out. He held the bloody orb in his pale hand. I vaguely remember seeing his wicked smile before blacking out.
