Chapter 2
{Emily's Pov}
"You know, you should get some rest before you lead us on this journey to your camp" I said, offering carl to stay with us just for the night. He shook his head and stood up.
"I can't. My father, he'll look for me and I don't want him to wander around during the dark, it's not safe and you know that" he picked up his gun and hat, and walked out of the tent.
"But, if you go out there alone you'll be risking your life as much as he is" my words stopped him, "would you rather your father finding you in one piece or in pieces?" I crossed my arms, and furrowed my eyebrow.
He groaned, and rolled his eyes. "Fine, but at dusk we leave, no buts about it."
I nodded, "okay"
We both started to walk to the little fire burning, everyone sat around it. Hannah, Jack, David, Cassie, John and Krystal. Everything was good for the moment.
"Biters!" Toby shouted, pointing at the pathway Carl and I took to get up here.
I looked over at Carl, we both quickly ran with rest of my group. Krystal and John were already killing them, as they fled towards everyone.
How could they have gotten up here? There's a river that separates this place from the town, how did they even manage to get across it?.
"Emily!" Sarah screamed from her tent, I looked over a walker knocked it down with her in it. It grabbed her ankle.
Bang.
Carl saved her, I didn't. I hesitated, she would've died. I glanced over at him again, he smile and continued to help everyone.
What a bad moment to have wakers overrun us, nobody was prepared.
"Em, where's Toby?" Krystal asked running over towards me. I shrugged and looked all around for my uncle, he was just near the truck not too long ago.
I kept looking around, everyone was being attacked, David, Jack, Cassie. They were all laying in the ground, with blood all over them.
The sight wasn't pretty, the good always had to die.
"I'm over here krys-" toby's voice was muffled, Krystal screamed. I turned around to a sight I wish I hadn't seen.
"Toby" I whispered softly, under my breath, tears about to fall. A walker had him, it bit into him again and again until more joined it. Krystal ran and took each of them down.
More and more walkers started to come, I didn't know what to do. I grabbed Sarah and hid on the side of the SUV. She cried, in my arms, wiping her tears on my shirt.
"Are we gonna die?" She whimpered into my chest. I rubbed her back not knowing what to say.
"I don't know" I sobbed, holding her tightly to me.
Foot steps became closer to us, I stood up and held my gun up. It was Carl, thankfully.
"We have to go, now!" He said, grabbing my hand, and pulling me with him. Sarah's hand was in my other, she went with us too, not letting go of my hand.
"Krystal" she shouted, looking back at our aunt who was holding our dying uncle in her arms. "Krystal" she shouted one last time, she didn't look up.
"Don't look back, Sarah" I said, squeezing her hand.
"Do what your sister says" Carl added, pulling me and her up the hill.
We reached the top of the hill, all of us out of breath. Carl and Sarah sat down to breathe just a little, I stood standing, looking over the town below the hill. I saw smoke, near the far end of the town near the prison.
"We should go there" I pointed at it, carl stood up and smiled.
"My camp? Yeah that sounds like a great idea"
We both started to walk down the hill carefully, Sarah was on my back, and Carl held my hand again so I could keep balance.
"Emily, Sarah" Krystal's familiar voice shouted. She was on the hill, and looked down at us, relief came across her face.
Sarah dropped down from me and ran up to her, she hugged her. Krystal picked her up and followed Carl and I.
The whole way down the hill, nobody spoke a word. For once in awhile everything was silent, a peaceful kind of silent.

We were all in a small suburban area, it was all cleared out, there were literally no walkers to be found. The sun had began to set slowly over the mountains, making the view of outside harder to see.
"We'll have to stay in one of the houses" Krystal said, setting Sarah down.
Carl walked up to the house in front of us and opened the door. We all followed him, Sarah shut the door behind us, just in case.
"There's lanterns" I said, holding one up. "Someone must already live in here"
He shook his head, and went up the stairs "no way, they'd be back in here by now, if they were smart"
Sarah and I searched for blankets, that weren't already hanging on the windows. Even though it doesn't get that cold down here, I still want something to stay warm with.
"We'll all stay upstairs, okay?" Krystal said, grabbing the two bags she brought with her. We all nodded.
{Krystal's Pov}
"So Carl, tell me a little more about your group?" I asked, as I struck the can of fruits with the can opener.
The young boy took his hat off, and set it on the bed. "Well, there's not much to say" he said, "there's not many of us either"
I poured a little bit of fruit in small containers that I found downstairs and gave each of the kids some.
"There's not many of you, yet you still managed to clear that prison?" I asked, surprised. This group he's talking about seem like they know their stuff, they aren't stupid.
"Yeah, we took it"
"How many are in your group?" Sarah asked, slurping on the fruits juice.
"There's me, my dad, daryl, glenn, hershel, Beth, Maggie, Michonne, carol, Judith.." He looked down slightly, a tear falling down from his face.
"Are you okay?" Emma asked, resting her hand on his shoulder.
"Yeah, I am"
"Judith. You stopped at that name, why?" I asked. He leaned against the wall, and looked up.
"She's my little sister, my mother died while Maggie and I delivered her" he said, informing me.
My eyes lit up with sorrow, this young boy had been through so much. Watching his mother die, you can't come back from that.
"I saw my mother die before" Emily said. I looked down, trying not to remember that day.
"I did too." I added "When I was ten"
"Same here, you're not alone" Sarah said patting his back, and giving him a little hug.
"I think we all should get some rest, good night" each of the three kids got onto the mattresses I pulled out from all of the rooms. I closed the door to this room and slid the book shelf in front of it, just in case a biter somehow found its way here.
After that we all doze off.
