Fade | NaLu

1.

I woke up to a sky of silver and blue,
I looked next to me and saw you,
You opened your eyes and gave me a smile,
That made my heart run for miles.
The rest of our day was filled with smiles.

I opened my eyes and was blinded by sunlight, groaning i closed my eyes again and turned around. When I opened my eyes again I was met with the sight of my best friend peacefully sleeping. His pink hair was messed up quite a bit and he was quietly snoring. Natsu Dragneel is his name, and sadly I've fallen in love with him. Yes, I Lucy Heartfilia am in love with my best friend.

It started back in elementary school, and now we're seniors in Highschool. I never had the guts to confess, I was too afraid of ruining our friendship. But now that we're going to graduate in 10 months and most likely be separated in college, since he's going to a different one than I am, I think it's time I tell him, just not yet. Suddenly I heard rustling, and saw Natsu waking up.

He opened his eyes and smiled. To others it may have been a regular, casual smile. To me it was one of the most wonderful things I've seen in my life. That smile, the one he smiles only for me, makes my heart race and fills me with a comforting warmth.

"Hey Luce! Looks like we fell asleep when we were watching clouds this morning, huh?" He said, chuckling.

"Yeah, what time is it?" I asked.

He took out his phone to check. "Wow! It's 4:30! We better get going." He said getting up. He stuck out a hand for me to take and pulled me up.

I smiled in thanks and followed behind him. Natsu wanted to go to Strauss Café for dinner, as it had just opened. Our friend Mirajane worked there, so we might get to pay her a visit. As we walked in we were met with the smell of  coffee and pastries. Natsu told me to find a table while he ordered, i nodded and walked over to a table by a window. I looked up and saw Natsu having a chat with the cashier. She was very pretty, with pale, blonde hair, almost white, that reached the nape of her neck and bright, blue eyes.

They chatted until our food was ready, before Natsu came back with a bright smile.

"Here's the food Lucy! Oh yeah, that's Mira's sister! She's pretty right?"

"Thanks Natsu, and yes she's very pretty." I replied. My heart cracked the tiniest bit when he called her pretty, but it's not like he said he was dating her so it's nothing to worry about.

"She used to go to a different school, cause she thought she would embarrass Mira and Elfman, but now that they graduated last year, she's coming to Fiore High! Her name is Lisanna!" he blabbed excitedly.

"That's great Natsu, I'm sure she would be a great addition to our group!"

"Yeah! Now let's eat before our food gets cold." And with that he chowed down on his burger. I smiled slightly at him, I'm glad he was so happy about his new friend. I hope me and her can get along, she really seems like a nice person.

The rest of the day, me and Natsu did all kinds of things. From roller blading to pranking Gray and Juvia, it was awesome! It was around 10 now, and Natsu was dropping me off at my house. My parents were very fond of him, as we had known each other since we were in preschool. Natsu looked at me a gave me a quick hug.

"Good night Luce. See you tomorrow!" He said and let go, yet still held my arms.

I smiled at him, "good night Natsu." And hugged him back. After that I walked into my house, and watched him walk down the street to his. I really hope our friendship never ends.
