Harry sat at the table with the Dursley's for breakfast, but the Dursley's , unlike their usual self, were silent and not touching their food at all. Today was the day the Weasley's were supposed to pick up Harry and his older sister, Asphodel, to come stay with them for the rest of the summer, along with go to the quidditch world cup the next day.
The Dursleys, as you could probably guess, were not to happy about the wizards coming into their home. The last time they had been in the presence of any wizards that weren't their niece and nephew, Dudely Dursley had gone to a private hospital in London to get his pig tail removed.
Before the dreadful silence could go on any longer, Asphodel came down the stairs, rather loudly, cheering.
"Good morning, Uncle Vernon, Aunt Petunia, Dudley. Wonderful day, isn't it? Seems like perfect weather for quidditch. Oh, Harry, your awake! How did you sleep?" She asked as she ruffled her younger brother's hair.
"Great, how about you, Asphodel?" He asked.
"Lovely. Dreamt of Hogwarts. It's a shame I won't be able to return with you this year, Harry. Although, I must say, I quite enjoy being able to do magic freely now." She said as she sent Uncle Vernon a look, challenging him to scold her for mentioning such things.
His face went dark purple, but he didn't say a word as she had her wand in her hand, carelessly tossing it into the air and catching it again. Every time it landed in her hand, Dudley would flinch slightly, making it hard for the two Potters to not laugh.
For the rest of the day, the two avoided the Dursleys and counted down the seconds until the Weasley's were to pick them up.
Finally, it was five in the evening, the time Ron said they'd be arriving, yet they weren't here. It wasn't until thirty minutes later that there was a loud crash in the living room, which caused Harry and Asphodel to run into it and Dudley to run away from it.
Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia were huddled into a corner together, trying to get as far from where the crash came from, which appeared to be the fireplace. They could hear arguing coming from inside of it and it took them both a great deal of effort to not laugh.
Moments later, after Harry explained to them about how they were trapped in the fireplace, there was a small explosion and Mr. Weasley, Fred, George, and Ron all stepped out of the hole were the fireplace had once been.
After Mr. Weasley's first attempt at small talk Asphodel turned to Harry and said, "I can't bear to watch this. Will you be alright if I apparated to the Burrow and waited for you there?"
Harry nodded and said, "Go for it." The girl smiled and patted her brother's shoulder before disappearing into thin air.
She appeared in the middle of a field and could see the Weasley home in the distance. She smiled to herself before walking towards the crooked house, taking her time as she was in no rush to leave the fresh air.
Once she finally reached the front door she let herself in, not bothering to knock as they were already expecting her. She could her laughter and looked over to see Fred, George, and Ron already here along with two older boys, who she assumed were Bill and Charlie.
"What's so funny?" She asked as she took a seat next to George.
"Fred gave Dudley a sweet that makes your tongue grow huge." Ron said.
"I did not, I simply dropped one. If he picks it up, that's on him." Fred said.
"I wish I could have seen that." She laughed at the thought of how the Dursley's would react. Just then, Harry stepped out of the fireplace and everyone turned to him.
