"What are you doing?" Charlie said as he walked up to Bill, who was standing in the middle of the living room.

"Nothing." Bill shrugged. Charlie looked at him, then followed his gaze to see what he was looking at. Asphodel laid on the couch, asleep with a book resting on her chest and a calico cat was laying on her stomach.

"Who's cat is that?" Asked Charlie.

" I don't know, I don't think she has a cat." said Bill.

"Is it a stray?"

"Strays don't usually walk in and lay on people when their sleeping."

"And people don't usually stand and watch other people when their sleeping."

"I was not watching her sleep, I was just walking by when I saw the cat and got confused." Bill said. They were both quiet for a moment before Charlie said, "Should we wake her up? There's an owl in the kitchen with a letter for her."

Bill moved forward to wake her, but the cat hissed at him and swatted at his hand.

"I guess not then." Bill murmured, moving away from them.

"HEY ASPHO-" Charlie started, but Bill covered his mouth, remembering how Asphodel had said she woke with a start quite often. But, it was too late, as soon as Charlie yelled she had jumped awake and fell off the couch.

"What the hell? What's on fire?" She said as she sat up.

"Sorry, I was just trying to wake you but that cat wouldn't let us anywhere near you." said Charlie as he helped her up.

"What cat?" She asked, picking up her book.

"That one," Bill said pointing to the cat, "isn't it yours?"

"I don't have a cat." She said.

"Oh." Bill said, confused. They all stared at the cat as it curled up on the sofa, staring at Bill.

"Anyways." Charlie said, breaking the silence. "There's an owl in the kitchen for you."

Asphodel nodded and walked into the kitchen where a large, brown owl sat holding a letter. She picked up the letter and the owl flied off.

Bill stood and watched as she read the letter before she smiled widely.

"What does it say? Who's it from?" He asked.

"It's from Dumbledore. He says I'm welcome to come and work at Hogwarts." She said.

"That's great. What are you going to be doing?" He asked.

"Well, a bit of everything, really. I'm going to be helping out madam Pomfrey and helping Hagrid teach care of magical creatures, and a couple of other things in between." She explained.

"Sounds fun, when do you have to go?" He asked.

She glanced back down at the letter and said, "The day after tomorrow. But I'm going to apparate back here every night instead of staying at Hogwarts."

"Oh, that's cool." He said and Charlie walked in.

"Am I the only one still wondering where this cat came from?" He asked.

"Did you ask your mum?" Asphodel asked as she walked back into the living room and sat on the couch. The cat quickly jumped into her lap and meowed.

"She doesn't know." Charlie said. "She thought it was yours."

"I don't have a cat." She said.

"Well it looks like you do now." Bill said as the cat purred loudly.
