10:00

The scrawny boy who is standing in front of Autumn and me, holds a gun. The gun is aimed towards our heads in a manner of malice and abhorrence.

"Get on your knees," he says in a scratchy voice. It sounds like he has been crying. Maybe he feels bad for the amount of people he's hurt.

Terror rises from my stomach and I feel as if I might puke. Down the hallway a bit I see a lifeless body and my fear intensifies.

"Why are you doing this!" Autumn is clearly freaking out.

"Shut up," the boy says. I recognize him.

"I've seen you before," I say. "You hang out by the bleachers every Wednesday to watch the football practice. Why?"

"I also get beat up behind those bleachers every day," he says ignoring my question."

"And I'm sorry about that," I say sincerely. I am trying my very best to keep my voice from cracking. "But you do not have to hurt anyone else."

"I do."

Then three things happened. Three crazily terrifying things. First, I spot a police man about one hundred feet behind the scrawny shooter.

Second, I see Skye and Barry run out of the dance room.

Third, the gun boy grabs Autumn by the hair and presses the barrel up to her head.

Everything happens so fast, like the world was on time lapse. I hear Autumn scream.

"No!" Skye shouts from down the hall. The boy turns towards her, gun and all.

Two simeotanius shots echo through the halls. One from the police, one from the boy.

Both shots hit people.
