I couldn't believe what had just happened. My father used to beat me whenever I had crushes on guys, but that was when I was a little kid. Plus this time he had the audacity to hit me in public. I shook my head trying to erase these thoughts from my head.
As Phil and I raced home I began to fell dizzy, I fell onto the cement sidewalk and began to cry.
"Dan!"
"Yeah?"
"Are you alright?
"No."
Phil kneeled down beside me and pulled me into a tight hug and whipped away my hot tears. "Babe I'm sorry but we've got to get home, It's getting dark." He stood me up and put his arm around me as we walked. "Phil, I-I'm afraid. Can we stop somewhere?" He nodded and say is down on a park bench. The sky had begun to turn black and everything seemed to be painted gray.
