Today Chuck and I were walking through the town. We just wanted to get out and see things. We noticed there was an orphanage for all the children whose parents weren't here or they couldn't find their parents. We decided to go in and hopefully adopt a kid.
"Hello there!" A lady walked up to us and greeted us.
"Um hi." I said awkwardly.
"We want to see if we can adopt a young boy." Chuck stated.
"Of course. Follow me," she said as she lead us to the back.
There was many boys and girls running around. They had babies. Older kids. Boys and girls.
I noticed a young boy sitting by himself in the corner. He had dark brown hair and green eyes. He looked about 8.
I tugged Chucks shirt and pointed to the little boy. Chuck and I walked up to him and bent down in front of him.
"Hey little buddy." Chuck said in a soft gentle voice.
The kid sniffled and looked up at us. "H-hi."
"What's your name?" I asked smiling.
"David."
"That's an awesome name!" Chuck exclaimed.
David looked up a little more and smiled.
"We want to know if it's okay if you can be our new son." I said.
"Like you're my new mommy and daddy?" David looked puzzled.
"Yes. We can raise you and take care of you." Chuck said.
"Erm okay." David stood up and held my hand.
"Is this the little cutie you want?" The lady asked.
"Yes." Chuck smiled.
"Well okay then." The lady lead us out of the building.
We walked down the street to an ice cream shop and everyone got ice cream. I had strawberry Chuck had chocolate and David had mint chocolate chip.
Chuck out David on top of his shoulder and we walked home. I grabbed an ice cream for Bailey and we decided to hurry before it melted.
Bailey was still upset about her brother. He had lost and is now dead forever. She hasn't left her room since they called his name for the fight.
When we walked in Bailey was making lunch. She looked over at us then at David and gasped. She ran over and gave him a big hug.
"Hello! I'm Bailey!" She said excitedly.
"I'm David." She hugged him back.
"Bailey this is David our new kid." Chuck said.
"So I'm an aunt now?" She smiled.
"Yup!" I laughed.
"Is that vanilla ice cream for me?" Bailey grabbed the cone.
"Yeah, what are you cooking?" I asked.
"Pizza."
"HOMEMADE PIZZA!?" David yelled excited.
"Is there any other way to make it?" Bailey looked confused.
"Yes there is." I rolled my eyes.
"Well why you two are fighting and cooking I'll take David up to his room." Chuck said leading David upstairs.
"So what kind of pizza?"
"Combination."
"Yum!" I rubbed my stomach.
"So when are we going shopping for new clothes?" Bailey grabbed her clothes and wrinkled her nose in disgust.
"Soon very soon." We both laughed.
"So how come you guys didn't tell me you were gonna adopt a kid?"
"We didn't know. We were walking through the streets saw an orphanage and just wanted to help one of those lost kids."
"That's nice of you."
"He was sitting alone in the corner. I didn't want him to feel scared or alone. That feeling sucks and he's only a kid."
"True."
"Pizza is ready!" We both yelled.
Chuck and David ran down stairs. I'm guessing they were racing because Chuck was slow and when they got in the kitchen David jumped up and down yelling "I won I won!"
We were all eating joking and laughing. The pizza was really good. Then the voice spoke and everything went dead silent like time stopped.
"Today's fighters are Ally Hanson. Female 12. And Megan Elertson. Female 13."
David started crying. I grabbed him and held him close and cried with him. Who would put kids to fight to the death. Chuck wrapped his arms around both of us to calm us.
"Why kids!?" I screamed angrily.
"It's terrible I know." Chuck whispered stroking my arm.
I took David up to his room and put him to sleep. I climbed into me and Chucks bed. He was staring at the ceiling. I layed down faced him then he wrapped his arm around me and I fell asleep.
