{WARNING: This contains blood and the death of young children, please read with caution}
As we head into the underground area people are hiding in corners of alley ways, as the darkness met the city the area was dark and the only lights were the few street lights left in the city. Monsters lurking in the city and searching for weak humans to eat, occasionally you would hear screams from elderly woman and the cries of very young children. It kept me up most of the night, thinking about the monsters and why this event is happening now. I happen to notice a small creature peeking into the underground tunnel, it snuck past the people who where sleeping leaving them unharmed. But it was heading towards the area where the small children and infants were sleeping, I try to wake up Sky. Sky moans "No, I don't want to go to school Mom" I giggle a little and decide to go after the creature. As soon as I get within 10 feet of the area, I hear crying and screaming, I start to run down the long dark hallway and I open the door. It was a site I did not want to see....
The next day, we learned that 12 babies and 14 young children were killed by the creature before I came. I'm sitting down looking at the ground thinking about what happened last night, Mothers and Fathers crying over the fact their child was dead. I only managed to save about 30 babies and 40 children, it was a good number but those children were traumatized by the site of their siblings, friends, and cousins dying. I then began to remember that night, I start to flashback. The creatures teeth sinking into a child's flesh, my eyes widen at the site of it. I say nothing, my only instinct was to fight. I charge at the creature and it drops the baby, it's body laying limp on the floor as blood rolls through the cracks of the floor. Me and the creature clashed.....and I won. After that battle everyone quickly found out and I was mentally broken for the whole night, I had to be put under some medicine to finally go to sleep.
Tomorrow and the future is going to be more dangerous than that...so I had to make myself realize that.
