Untitled Poem #5

     And I can't sleep -

because at night - 

I miss your touch -

and the way your arms held me.

I know you're asleep, 

letting your mind race- 

dreaming of a girl - 

the one that took my place. 

I lay on the right side of the bed - 

that was your side- 

I feel lonely when I lay on the left- 

and the right still smells like you. 

I know you're forgetting me - 

with each passing day - 

but everywhere I look -

there's something that reminds me of you. 

I don't know if you're happy - 

or lonely - 

all I know - 

is I'll be waiting for you with open arms. 

dedicated to my ex who still crossed my mind sometimes.
