What If

III

Adelaide, Lizzie, and Raven all got into a carriage together. They were the best of friends and they weren't going separately. They was still some space so they waited to see who else would enter there carriage. They begged it wasn't anyone they hated.
The girls didn't have to wait long for someone to jump on. A few minutes later Remus, Sirius, Regulus came up the steps and took a seat. At first the ride was terrible silent. Until Raven decided to break it though with her wonderful choice of conversation. " So Sirius how many girls have you snogged so far?" The two always seemed to compete for who could snog more. After Ravens ice breaker her and Sirius were locked in to conversation.
Not long after Elizabeth was conversing with Remus about Transfiguration. They both did great in the subject and were talking about what they thought they were going to be taught this year.
This left Adelaide and Regulus just sitting in awkward silence. Adelaide decided to break this silence the way she always did. With a terribly corny joke. "If your ever cold just stand in a corner. They're usually around 90 degrees." Regulus looked up at her and just gave her a small smile. "Why do you always tell corny jokes?" Regulus questioned her. This just made Adelaide smile brighter. " Corny jokes are the best of them all. They are so terrible that it makes it even funnier." Regulus gave a low chuckle at her response. It was a noise that Adelaide found herself liking. She vowed to do anything she could to hear it more.
The carriage stopped abruptly, throwing the girls towards the boys. Addie and Lizzie had a safe landing. Unfortunately the same couldn't be said for Raven. She was thrown forward and her head slammed against the corner of the bench. She hit her head with such force that Raven passed out. "Raven!" "Oh my gosh!" Elizabeth and Adelaide cried out when they saw their friend passed out on the floor of the carriage.
The boys got up and were looking at the unconscious body of Raven. Everyone was unsure of what to do. "Umm everyone step out of the way give her some air. " Remus said. He decided someone had to handle the situation. He being the most level headed one decided it should be himself.
Everyone backed away giving her plenty of room. Remus walked forward though bending down to get a good look at the girl on the floor of the carriage. He reached out and shook her shoulder a bit. Seeing if maybe he could wake her up. Remus tried to no avail. He finally decided there was only one thing to do.
He slipped his arms under Raven. One by her shoulders and the other behind her knees. He picked her up and turned around to the others. "You all head up to the Great Hall to watch the sorting. I'll take her to the infirmary." he told them. "No we're coming with you." Lizzie said. She pointed to herself and Adelaide. Behind her Adelaide nodded her head. They weren't going to ditch there best friend.

"Alright fine. Padfoot I'll meet you and the others at the ceremony. Come on Lizzie, Ada." Remus and the two girls set off toward the infirmary. Hoping that the little injury wasnt to serious .
