-Aries-
Later that night while Caspian was asleep I snuck out of my room and sat in front of the old fashioned brick fireplace, it was cold so I looked down and my hands and focused on the heat just as I had done earlier. But nothing happened, I was confused so I looked outside and that's when I saw that the sun had set.
I stood up and walked to Caspian's room to wake him up, I was confused and needed answers I didn't care if it was rude.
I walked over to his bed and lightly shook his shoulder until he stirred and rubbed his eyes. "Hm?" He groaned out under the covers.
"So I cant use my powers when the sun goes down?"
He mumbled something then sat up in his bed. "No, your a sunlighter the name should be pretty self explanatory."
I scratched my neck and thought about it for a minute.
Everytime the frequency hit me it was mid day... that's why everyone else looked so calm.
"Sorry." I said awkwardly "I'm just trying to understand all of this.."

"Yeah I get it, you don't have to apologize don't worry. Just go get some sleep we've got a big day tomorrow." He said then laid back down."

Confusion tainted my mind for a moment but I shrugged my shoulders and sauntered back to my room as my eyelids grew heavier.

The next morning I awoke with the sun shining through the open window next to my bed, the curtains were waving around slightly from the cool morning breeze. I sat up and stumbled my way out of bed and into the kitchen to see Caspian sitting on the floor surrounded by newspapers and a white mug in hand.
He looked up at me and smiled slightly "morning, coffee?"
I nodded and poured some into a mug for myself and took a small sip. "So uh... what're you doing?" I asked, leaning against the counter.

"Looking at old newspapers from before.. ya know... all of this, I'm trying to piece things together but it's just not adding up!" He grumbled sounding frustrated.

I nodded slightly, not knowing what to say to that. I've been trying to piece it all together since the very beginning and I have nothing.

The tall yellow grass swayed in the wind as the sun appeared on the horizon casting an orange glow across the field. The young brown haired girl sat in the tree on the highest branch as she always did, watching and waiting.
The boy suddenly
appeared in front of the crooked old barn beside the tree, the girl immediately took notice of this and kept her eyes locked onto him as he made his way through the tall grass  where in the middle stood a tall woman in a white gown. She appeared to be glowing, a soft blue light floating around her. The boy slowly approached her and the woman held out her hand, the boy took it and they both vanished into thin air as they always had.

Present day

-Clara-

The sight of the seemingly endless, twisting road ahead of me was starting to get into my head. What if I never find somewhere safe? What if I'll have to constantly be on the run for the rest of my life, wasting away all alone on the roads. The sun was just beginning to rise, I could see the top of the burning star peek up on the line of the horizon. As soon as my body was hit with the soft orange light I felt my hands tingle and begin to warm up as my powers resurfaced after being dormant for night. I ventured into the trees next to the road, so I would be as hidden from sight as possible. I still had two fresh eggs in my bag along with a piece of metal, so I sit on the ground against a tree and take out the metal sheet. Placing my hand underneath it I then crack the two eggs onto the metal and focus on heating it up, the eggs begin to sizzle and I smile happily. A few minutes later they are cooked and I eat them as quickly as possible before placing the metal sheet back into my bag and heading back to the road. But when I arrive at the side of the road I see a silhouette a good thirty feet down the road, I panic and hide behind a tree. From what I could see it looked to be a man, maybe my age but I couldn't really see. I peek around the tree to look, the man was walking towards me. I grip the knife kept hooked into my belt and stay behind the tree as I heard the mans footstep getting closer and closer. Eventually I heard heavy breaths coming from the other side of the tree, it had to be him. I pulled my knife out and jumped out from behind the tree, I was now face to face with the man. He was about my age, pale skin and auburn hair, dirt smeared across his face. Something about him seemed familiar but I couldn't figure out what. "What do you want?" I ask, trying to conceal my panicked state.

"C-Clara?" He stumbled out and I froze.

"How do you know my name?!" I grip my knife tighter and step closer to him, pointing the blade at his chest.

"Woah!" He shouted and put his hands up defensively "I'm not gonna hurt you! It's me, Aries, from English class.. remember?" I gawked at him before tucking my knife back into my belt and flinging my arms around him.

"I'm sorry." I said, I had thought I was all alone out here but then I found.. him.
