How could I?"
"Hello?" Someone barged in.
"Uh... are you okay? Why are you upside down?"
"Oh, I was just playing a game and I missed but who are you and what are you doing here in my room?"
"I'm the landowner, I tried knocking at your door but I just heard you singing so I just came in to-"
"Oh, sorry I was singing the song to my game way too hard and religiously."
(Note: It is a song from a game called Cytus. Song titled, "It's a wonderful world". Google the game for more information)
"Actually, I came to talk about your name plate outside your door."
"What about it?"
"No one living in this building knows your name and you've just written, 'someone lives here' on your resident's name plate too so I was wondering if you could change it?" She asked politely.
"Will not inserting my name get me out of my apartment?"
"Uh.. no but I guess you should-"
"Okay, good for me. Now if you'll excuse me I gotta use the bathroom." She dashed into the bathroom without further delay.
She washed her face, looked at her reflection on the mirror.
"Did she leave yet? Why can't these people leave me alone? I don't want to deal with anyone out here."
She sat there on the bathroom floor and thought about how life could have been different had she just been a character in a game.
After a while, she decided to come out of the bathroom.
"I guess she already left-"
She opens the door and...
"Where is this?" She was shocked.
"Hello, my favorite little child."
She looked up and saw a man like demon who wore a strange mask coming down from the sky.
"Are you talking to me? Am I the child you were mentioning about?"
"Yes." He replied.
"Oh no, no. I'm eighteen and I am no child."
"Eighteen? Oh, pardon me then, I couldn't guess you were just a baby."
"A baby? You must be kidding me right? Just how old do you think you are?"
"Well, I'm a million years older than you."
"But you got the face of a twenty one year old young adult."
"My, my.. you're flattering me too much."
"That wasn't a compliment you know right? Well, just where on Earth am I?"
"Wrong question. Earth never had a place like this. Are you dumb? Did Earth ever have a creature like me?"
"Wait, what? I thought you were Cosplaying."
"Ha.Ha!" (He was offended)
"You see, this is somewhere hmmm... how shall I explain it. Well first off, you're not the only child out here."
"Please stop calling me a child and by not the only one what do you mean?"
"There are millions of children who landed themselves out here and these place has a lot and lot of dimensions which you children will be travelling to."
"WHAAAAAAT?" This doesn't make any sense."
"Of course, it wouldn't. This place was created with all of your idealistic thoughts. Thoughts from children from all around the globe."
"Thoughts? Wait, explain in detail."
"You see, when children like you, especially like you tend to run away from reality, things change. This world was created millions of years back. During the time I was born. All of the world's escapades created this idealistic world. Now you see, there is a balance between this ideal world and the real world and everything was going smoothly however, when your generation of children thought more and more, craved more and more for such a world, the balance that kept both worlds under control collapsed. Thus, here you are."
"So do you mean I'm inside my thoughts?"
"HEY! What were you listening to all this time? Did you really not go to school? You're so retarded for an eighteen year old."
She looked at him.
"Mask face, when you are living this daily ordinary boring life and then one day, suddenly you are summoned in a realm like this, what do you expect? Even Einstein, wouldn't figure it out."
"To begin with, Einstein wouldn't be here in the first place. He made his thoughts become into reality unlike you, who think of way more than the impossible." He smirked
"So what are we suppose to do? Stop dreaming, fantasizing? Try to figure out reality? The world would suck more that way."
"I'm not telling you to stop, but you all ran away too much. Do you know what will happen if more than half of the children's population think about escapism? The world will collapse. Both worlds. Why? Because there will be no future and all of you escapades will be held responsible. You are the builders, thinkers and power of the future and if what all of you do is run and run away, you will become good for nothings in your already doomed world. While you guys are here, figure out a way to make a reality for your world which you will want to be a part of."
"What exactly are we suppose to do?"
"You will face your fears, the voices inside your head, the demons and monsters that have been haunting your mind in the form of different creatures which you will have to find a way to kill before they kill you but.."
"Kill us? If we die here, what about the future you were talking about? What will happen to us?"
"If you die here, we don't know where you'll land up. You may be reincarnated into something else, maybe reborn again but no one knows which era you'll find yourself in. You could land up anywhere but the future."
"So you mean that if we die it's not over? We can return back to somewhere but that will on Earth itself right? That's no threat."
"Well, what if I say the, Earth you may think of will all be in your mind?"
"What do you mean?"
"You will think it's real but once you die here you're going to be trapped inside the void."
"The void? Why the hell are you guys playing with our lives here? Did I just fall asleep while playing a game?"
"Playing with your lives? Interesting. Up until now, all you bunch of cowards have been running away doing nothing with your lives and now you're blaming us and tagging us as the criminals when you are the ones destroying the futures of everyone's world including yours? We aren't playing with your lives, we are simply making you acknowledge and value it!" He replied back in the most annoyed toned.
"So, how do we not get killed?"
"While entering a dimension you don't know who's fears and monsters you'll be facing..."
"Wait, what? Just give me a moment to breathe. Hey, writer? Hello? The one writing the story, don't you think you're putting in a hell lot of heart attacking surprises out here? Make it a little easy will ya?
(Life was never easy and you should just get into your character by now. Seriously, get back to the story before I make you the stupid side character that dies instantly in the first chapter itself.)
Back to the story.
"Since the balance has collapsed already. We do not know which child's demons and monsters you'll be facing. There are over a thousand children from a single country and about a million when summed up with the rest of the globe. They are scattered into different dimensions and the operators of this world has lost control over letting you all only fight your fears, which is also all of your fault."
"Oh my God! I admit it. I admit it. I am dumb. Can you just make it easier for me to understand?"
"Hey ,Omoikane Hime! I've reached my limit here. Please just come down and explain to the retarded child down here. I wonder what made me choose her as my favorite child now."
"What! Omoikane Hime? What is going on? Have you finally lost it too?" With the poker face.
"My child, the only way for you to survive is to pick the best suitable weapon from the weapon of choice the dimension you'll be in offers you." A loud but warm voice said to her.
She looked up to see a maiden like figure sitting on a cloud.
"And you are?"
"He called out for me so I took pity upon him and came down." She smiled.
"You're the Hime? The goddess of this world?" She was shocked but awed as well.
"No, there are different kinds and many Gods you'll find out here according to the dimension you're in. You'll also encounter warlords and mythical creatures. Anything you children ever imagined will be here in this world, however friend or foe, no one knows. Except the Gods will be on your sides."
"I thought there was only one God up above and He created us, but was it all a lie?"
"No, dear. I'm sorry for making you feel that way. The God you believe in is there way far and beyond this world who rules over us too. He knows best but right now what's important is to survive and along with it, believe."
She smiled. She finally thought she was up for it.
"I always wanted to live in a place like this cause I sure know I'm not going to die, right writer?"
(The character I built her into, the cocky attitude and the ego. Oh my God! I slightly regret it. You die or not depends solely on the way you stop acting like you are the one writing and directing the story.)
"You can't stay here forever." He interrupted (I love this masked guy *smiles with my lips expanded*)
"I know that, but I don't want to leave this place so soon either. I finally got to the place I wanted to, you sure I'm not dreaming right? Or got hit by a truck and I'm in a coma and dreaming this all up right?"
"Just what is wrong with you? Act like you said, "I'm not a child anymore!" " with the accent.
"Let's move ahead and gather some of your fellow comrades so that it'll be easier if something were to come up"
"Something? You mean the monsters?"
"Let's just hurry up."
"Wait, wait. Just what do I call you?"
