"Is this it then?" She looked down, trying to conceal her tears.

"Yes." he said. How could one word hurt so much?

"You've got to go now. You're gonna miss your flight." She pushed him away, more of a nudge than a push, but she had to do something to hide how upset she was. "Go on."

"Livy, wait-

"No, go. It's what you need to do."

"But-"

"Tom, go."

He looked up at her, with sad, mournful eyes. He looked behind him to the terminal. He looked up at the ceiling trying to pick words to say out of the air, but today words weren't biting and he was left empty handed or in this case, silent. I don't want to go, he thought. I don't want to leave her, but I have to. He gently lifted her face up and kissed her forehead. Taking in a deep breath, trying to memorize her scent and the feel of her arms around him. She sniffled when he let go and grabbed his carry-on.

"You'll call when you land?"

"Yes. I will. I promise." He turned to walk away and walked only a few feet when he heard her.

"Did it mean anything to you at all, these past 6 months?"

"It's meant everything."

"Then stay. Just stay here."

"You know I can't. Goodbye, Olivia."

Tears streaming down her face, she started to speak but no words came out. Only a choked sound. "Tom, I-" she sighed and regained some composure. "I love you."

"I love you too, my dear Livy."

She watched him walk through the terminal, growing smaller and smaller until he was just a speck. That was last day Olivia Graham saw Tom Hiddleston. The day he walked, no flew, out of her life. To be heard of again, yes, but never to be seen again. Not for eight years, anyway.
