    Olivia looked down at her phone, checked the time and put it back in her purse. Daniel should be there any minute to pick her up, but she hated waiting. She was not a patient person at all. Sighing, she stood up and poured a glass of water and drank it all. "Come on." she said. She waited a few minutes and decided that Daniel was in fact going to be late. She resigned to turning on the TV and it was on Entertainment Tonight. "The upcoming Thor movie is expected to explode in the box office. Fans have anticipated this sequel since Thor came out in 2011. Staring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, and Tom HIddleston; Thor 2 hits theatres November 8." Pictures flashed across the screen of Loki and Thor and Tom HIddleston with Chris Hemsworth. Olivia, with the remote still in her hand, slammed the power off. The TV went black and she stared at the screen.

"Knock, knock." Daniel walked through the door and Olivia rose to hug him.

"I didn't hear you pull up." He kissed her lightly and quickly on the lips.

"That's because I'm a ninja." He smiled and took his hand in hers. "You ready to go?"

"Yeah, let me grab my bag."

Daniel drove to the restaurant where they were supposed to meet his parents. The ride was silent and Olivia felt quite awkward. Usually she and Daniel had no problem making conversation, but tonight it seemed like if she took out a knife she could cut the awkwardness, put it on a plate, and eat it for dinner. "So is this place any good?"

"Yeah."

She let her eyes roam out the window and take in the Chicago evening. She liked it here which is why when graduated college she decided to stay. Chicago, the windy city, was part of her now. She liked where she lived; a small apartment in River North Park. Daniel lived farther outside the city in one of the suburbs in a very small house. When they married they decided that they would move into a suburb and buy a bigger house that could accomodate their families and eventually, well, children. She hadn't want to move in with him for several reasons. The main one being that she didn't want to leave North Park just yet. She really did love it there. She felt her phone buzz. There was text from her friend Cherise.

<Have you set a date yet?>

<No, I've been engaged for less than 24 hours.>

<Don't forget, we have a meeting tomorrow at 9:30.>

"Dammit...", she hit her head against the headrest.

"What?"

"I forgot I have a meeting tomorrow about the exhibition next month and I don't have anything put together." She was in charge of managing the international art exhibit that the Bridgeport Art Center was hosting in September. This was her biggest project yet and she was bound and determined not to screw it up. She had gone to school for photography, but finding a job had been tough so she got a job working in management at Bridgeport. She organized all the events that came there and this one was by far the most important. People, celebrities, and artists from more than 20 countries would be there.

"We're here." Daniel parked the car and ran around the front to open the door for her. He was attractive, it's true. But in a different kind of way. He had dark brown hair, almost black, with with milk chocolate eyes. He was two inches taller than her, which put him at 5'11.

She stepped out of the car, and looped her arm through his. "Alright," she said. "Let's do this."

Dinner went surprisingly well. Olivia always felt nervous around Daniel's parents. They were so much different from what she was used to. Her parents were very laid back and informal, but they were good people. Daniel's parents were formal and so polite that every time Olivia went to speak she asked herself if what she was about to say would make her sound like an idiot. She felt like whenever she was around them, she walked on eggshells.

Now that she was back home she could take off the heals, take her hair down from the outrageous clip it was in, and then go to bed. The shower could wait until morning. While she went through her evening routine, she turned on the TV that was in her room and slipped into the bathroom. When she heard the voice, she gasped.

"And I wish I could trust you."

"If you did, you'd be the fool I always took you for."

She knew that voice. She rushed into the room, looking for the remote to change the channel. Just as she was about to change it she heard "When do we start?"

We don't.
