The door slammed as Charlie left his house with his parents words running through his mind. "How can they just stop loving each other?" He questioned.

"Simple, they fell in love with someone else." a voice that had he come to know over the years.

"Hey, Alex." Charlie responded.

"What's wrong?" the old lady asked.

"Parents aren't getting a long."

With obvious sarcasm she said, "Well isn't that just lovely." She paused for a second and continued "Come in Charlie. The boys missed you." Alex is a grandma of two energetic boys. Charlie would normally count the days until he could see them but lately he hasn't showed up and it worried Alex.

"Okay." He said and walked up Alex's old, large porch. The place hasn't changed a bit since he last visited, the first thing you see when you walk in the stairs, the stairs that Charlie has raced down so many times. To the left there is the old dinning room, Alex doesn't go in there after Tom's death, her husband. Alex walked into the living where she spends most of her time painting.

The living room was Charlie's favorite room, the old leather sofa had paint splattered all over it. The colors were not loud and obnoxious but complemented the room. Charlie could hear the boys' laughter from upstairs.

"Jeremiah! Elijah! Charlie is here." she called out. the boys raced down the stairs calling out Charlie's name. Charlie was an only child but for some reason he loved kids. He remembers a happier time, when his parents would go out with friends and they would dump their kids on him but he didn't mind at the time.

"Charlie! Charlie!" the boys yelled, laughter was the only responds that Charlie could give. Jeremiah was two years older than his six year older brother, Elijah. Anna, the boys mum and Alex's daughter was recently a widow. This left her to busy herself with work to hide the pain. Alex being a grandmother was willing to take the boys when needed to.

Elijah was strangely the calmest Charlie could tell he was going to be a serious person when he grows up, Jeremiah not so much. The boys pulled Charlie to the playroom "What are you guys doing?" Charlie questioned as the pushed him to the floor.

"We want to play with cars." Jeremiah said while clapping. The boys played for an hour or so until Alex came up to the playroom with seriousness written on her face.

"Charlie I would like to speak with you." she said. Charlie could tell what this conversation was going to be about. He walk out of the room down to the living room with Alex following behind. " I think it is important for us to talk about what is going on with your parents." Alex explained. They sat down on the old leather sofa.

Charlie took a moment before asking, "What happens when one moves out? I thought they loved each other, I don't understand how they can just let this happen. If this happened a couple of years ago- Hell this wouldn't happen if it was a couple years ago." " I just want to know what happened?"

"Things change Charlie. I can't answer your questions but I can tell you that it might be best if you found something that you could do that would help you forget for just a little." She replied.

"Thanks Alex but I think I am going to go now.'

"Okay, just be careful. You are welcome to come over anytime you would like, the boys really do miss you." Alex confessed. Charlie knew that Alex was worried but didn't understand why.

Charlie walked up to his house to see his dad walking out with bags in his hands. Charlie's father looked at him with no emotion on his aged face and got into his car. Charlie was frozen to his spot, he knew his parents weren't getting along and one was bound to leave but he didn't know it was going to be so soon.

                                                                          ~~~~~~~~~~~
 Weeks had passed and Charlie's house only become silent which is odd but expected. The house was really loud when Charlie's father was here with his parents constant fighting. But the thing that has upset him the most is the fact his mother is actually happy. "It's like nothing has happen, like he didn't even exist." Charlie thought.
She also has been going out more, the other day she even brought a guy home to eat dinner with them, his name is Jack.  Looking back on that Charlie realized Alex was right about that. "Maybe I should take her advice and find something to do that will make me forget." He said to himself.
Charlie thoguht that he could go into town and look at the old shops. Maybe he could find something. When he was a kid he would always play with the guy who ran the old music shop.
With that on his mind he walked into town and heard a beautiful sound, a sound that started off steady and elegant but began to grow powerful with much complexity and an equal amout accuracy. But once it hit the most emotional part it slowly fated into a breathtaking and soulful end.
Charlie stood there for a moment in complete awe. He scanned that whole park, which he didn't even know he walk into, looking for the source of the angelic tune. Sadly he couldn't find it, disappointment flashed across his face. "I have to know who and what was that." Charlie said to himself.
Charlie decided that this is what he was going to do to. This was the thing that is going to make him forget. Now if only he could find out what song was that and who was playing it. Charlie knew exactly where to look. The old music shop.
