Chapter 12

I believe I dreamed more than that, but I'm not sure. All I remember is waking up who knows how long after and hearing alarms blaring.  Red emergency lights came on and I moved slightly trying to be able to tell where I was. I was feeling light headed, I couldn't see anything, when I tried moving I could feel something pressing against me from the sides.

Where am I?

What have they done to me?

I heard small footsteps and became blinded by light as someone opened a door that was right in front of me. I felt two arm like limbs wrap around me, followed by said "arms" picking me up. I didn't know what it was since I couldn't see it so I stayed still, waiting, as it carried me away.

After a while my eyes had adjusted better to the light. I saw that the thing that picked me up was a tall woman wearing a purple ball gown. The "arms" carrying me were strange webbingless wings. They looked as if the webbing had been cut off. I focused on her more and saw that she had long black hair that almost reached the floor, and that floating slightly above her head was a dark red crown, it seemed to be cracked in different places, but it somehow sticked together.

"Don't be scared child." said the lady in a nice gentle voice. The kind of voice you would recall a good teacher use when teaching a favorite student, the kind of voice that you'd hear once and remember the rest of your life.

"Where are you carrying me?" I asked her in a low voice.

"I'm taking you to get your powers back. There is a great evil here, an evil not even my beloved daughters could get free from. You will aid me, you will melt the chains of light that hold the darkness, and we will get out of here alive." she said.

Something about her words would normally not make sense, but somehow it did. I started to slowly remember...

I closed my eyes...

and I heard it. I heard all the voices. The ones from when I was experimented on, the ones from the people in the hallway, and the ones I could hear in the room next door.  I remember hearing people talk about two girls. They were called lullabies by the guards. One guard said they were the most beautiful thing he had ever seen and that it was true that the most beautiful of roses have the largest thorns.

I opened my eyes and looked at her. "The lullaby girls...right? Does that make you one of them too?" I asked.   "Oh no my dear boy. They are my daughters, but I am no lullaby. I am a Pureblood Kishin." she said. I could feel in the voice that she had smiled.

That name...I heard a voice mentioning it.

"Did you hear what happened in Cell Block S?" a man said. "Its quite unfortunate...well they kinda had it coming. It was stupid of them to think they could contain a Kishin. They are called Demon Gods for a reason." replied a woman. "It was dumb to think that a normal one can be contained, but I heard the one that broke out was their queen." said a second man. "Forty guards murdered in five minutes...gotta give her some credit, and I'm sure as hell glad that she was sedated and had the wings operated on. Wouldn't want to go home to my family and see that thing flying towards my home." said the woman.

A Kishin Queen. A Demon God Queen. I shivered at the idea that this nice, gentle, sweet woman was the feared creature that they had talked about. I looked at the crown on her head. "Are you the Kishin Queen?" I asked softly, begging that she wouldn't be angered by my question.

She let out a soft giggle. "Yes child. I am." She walked into a janitors closet and put me down. "Don't be scared. I will not harm you if you do as I say."
