Haruka's POV
The day seemed to drag on. Maybe it was because I honestly didn't want to tell the Guardians how my mother became psychotic. Maybe they would leave me?!?! Maybe they would think of me like a freak and kick me out of the Guardians!?!?! What's worse is that Hime-Chan disappeared to go look for something called The Embryo with the rest of the Shugo Charas.
It was near the end of the day when I overheard a classmate of mine.
"I can't wait for the school festival!" A overly happy girl said giggling with her friends. I turned around and saw Amu-Chan looking over the math homework we had gotten earlier. Erasing her work over and over again.
'THIS LITERALLY MAKES NO SENSE!!!!' I looked at her and giggled. She looked up at me.
"You're supposed to carry the 7." I told her taking my pencil and showing her how to solve the problem.
"Thanks Haruka-Chan! I didn't know you were good at math." She said smiling. I smiled back.
"It's not that hard Amu-Chan." I replied. "If you don't mind me asking, what's this about a school festival?"
"Oh yeah! You've only been here for not even a week so of course you wouldn't know about it! We have one every year. It's in a time span of two days where we get to show off to other classes. But we get a couple of weeks to pick a theme and prepare." She explained happily. Suddenly our Sensei walked into the room with Tadase-Kun.
"Okay students listen up!" He spoke trying to get the noisy class's attention. Our other classmates didn't even hear him, they just continued with their pointless conversations.
Amu-Chan tapped my shoulder and I turned my head away from Sensei.
'I want you to cover your ears' She thought getting up from her seat. Her eyes still locked onto my orange ones. I nodded and covered my ears to drown out our classmates. She stalked up to the front of the classroom and whispered something into Tadase-Kun's ear. He quickly covered his ears too and Amu-Chan grabbed a piece of chalk. She slammed it onto the chalkboard and slowly dragged it across the surface. Making sure it screeched. The sound barely got through to my clenched ears, but other students groaned in agony. She quickly handed the piece of chalk too Sensei and walked back to her desk. She sat down and crossed her legs. Acting cool.
'That was super nerve wracking!' She thought letting out a held in breath. I giggled as she glared at me.
"Thank you Himamori-San. Now class you might of heard about the school festival that's coming up in a couple of weeks. As to start preparations Tadase-Kun is here to help Dec what your class will be doing this year. Choose wisely." He said happily as I gave the stage to Tadase-Kun.
"Raise your hands if you have an idea and in the end we'll choose the best one." He said taking the piece of chalk from Sensei. Nobody rose their hand except for a boy in the back in the classroom.
"How about a maid and butler cafe?" He asked shyly. 'It would be adorable to see the girls in the class with maid outfits on!' He thought drooling. I shook my head slightly in disappointment.
"Alright. Any other ideas?" Tadase-Kun asked. When nobody else rose their hands he quickly wrote something down in his notebook and spoke. "Alrighty then. This class will be doing a cafe. Sorry for the intrusion." He bowed and left the classroom and the class erupted in noise.
"This sounds like fun!" I giggled as Amu-Chan pouted.
(After School)
I was finally able to explain to them how my mother turned psychotic. How I made father leave. How she was depressed and full of grief. How she went to every doctor to find what was wrong with her "precious" little girl. And her abandoning me with my grandfather when she finally snapped.
We were now sorting through papers while eating sweets that Nadeshiko-Chan brought in. The Shugo Charas also came back from their little adventure saying that they had no luck. Which didn't honestly surprise anybody and I was still confused.
"Haruka-Chan, Amu-Chan!? What I your class doing for the school festival?" She asked slicing through the thick silence. "A Maid and Butler Cafe." I replied. I heard Yaya-Chan squeal. "It's right up your alley Haruka-Chan!" She exclaimed.
"What do you mean?" I asked. She giggled at my confused expression.
"Your Shugo Chara is a maid after all! And you look adorable in a maid costume!" She squealed putting me in a crushing hug. That's when I noticed that I'm the shortest one here. I'm older than Yaya-Chan and she's taller than me!
"Why am I the shortest here!?!" I exclaimed after Yaya-Chan let me go.
Everyone laughed as I pouted. Kukai-Kun patted the top of my head laughing. 'You're just too cute!' I blushed as I overheard his thoughts. I'm just so happy that I found the people who would stay by my side and I would do anything to protect my sanctuary, my friends, my new happy life!
