Jone went upstairs, having grabbed his things from the Earth Machine. Andrew knew where he went outside, his parents on the other hand didn't as his parents were cooking dinner. Jone went upstairs in the bedroom of Andrew and Trenton, and sat on the bed.
Andrew had his drums in the corner, along with a stack of sheet music. Jone wished he had his Latin book, which was many years away.
"So," Trenton said. "What do you do? Any activities?"
"Not much. I study languages."
"Which ones do you study?"
"Latin, and some Spanish."
"Cool, I play piano."
The parents called for the children who all were upstairs, discussing their activities. They went downstairs, where they found chili, which made up for the colder fall weather.
"So Jone, how are things?" Mr. McMahon asked.
"They're alright," Jone said, sipping the warm chili. He swallowed. "They could be better."
"How?" Mrs. McMahon asked. "What's better than this?"
Jone could answer that question, however the answer was two years away.
There were some steps heard in the hallway.
"Who else is here?" Jone asked.
Everyone remained silent, hesitating to give an answer. Jone almost spoke, but had his foot stomped on by Trenton.
They remained silent. No one moved. Not a single breath could be heard, no one made any type of noise. Then, the door swung open, and shut. The family and the friend were safe.
"Whew!" Andrew exclaimed. "That's a total relief!"
"Who was it?" Jone asked.
"It was a group. They tear families a part. That's what happened to yours..."
The men came back in. "WE'VE GOT A WHOLE FAMILY!"
"No!" Mrs. McMahon exclaimed. "We will protect the house! Go, go with Jone. Take him out of here! We will be fine, we've done this before,
remember?"
"Yeah, come on Jone," Andrew said.
The three boys fled from the dinner table while the McMahon parents were protecting it. They all fled to the third floor, the one with the lock on it. A man chased them.
They made it to the top floor, the attic, closing and locking the door behind them.
"Why in the world did we come up here?" Jone asked in the dark, not seeing the other two boys, as if he were actually talking to the darkness.
"There are some objects up here," Andrew said. "They work just like your Earth Machine except instead of traveling through time, they travel through different dimensions. Perhaps one of these dimensions will allow us an escape plan to your parents, without..."
"Shhh..." Trenton said, "don't ruin this. We want this done right."
Jone picked up a mirror, which he could see easily by the moonlight from outside in the third floor window
"What's this?" Jone asked.
"That, that is the Magic Mirror. It will be our transportation device, per se, through these different dimensions," Andrew said. "That mirror that you are holding there was used in magic shows during the 1880's. It has had a very dark life."
"Well how did it end up here?" Jone asked.
"These are the grounds of a magic house. It was called 'the Reveal House' These grounds have had a very long, dark life as well. We sometimes hear elephants and see a man dressed in a magic uniform, as if he was the host. It is like we're back, back in the 1920's. Those ghosts want that mirror, we put it up here in the attic so that they couldn't find it."
A man, in magic clothes, suddenly appeared, going after Jone who had the mirror. Andrew shouted some words in Latin.
"Ō speculum, eāmus!"
A great light was glowing from the mirror. They were pulled in, and they were off.
