My Best Friend Rita

Hide and Seek

A year passed and I am now 8 years old. I have not heard from Rita all year but Halloween is right around the corner again and I will go trick or treating with her. She promised and I'm hoping he keeps her promise. Daddy had gotten a better job and gets more money. We were able to get a new halloween costume for me this year and I wanted to be a vampire. We headed to the store and got a vampire costume I was so excited! When mommy was paying for the costume I saw a paper and tried to read it but didn't know some words and was too small to read the paper that was high above me. Have you seen her? Was the title on top of the page in bright red letters. Underneath was a picture of Rita. "Mommy look Rita is famous!" Mommy looked sad but smiled quickly "no honey that's because they can't find her." Can't find her? Was she playing hide and seek? I wanna play too why didn't she ask me to play? Oh well ill ask her when I see her on Halloween! We got home and I showed daddy my new costume he said it looked awesome and ruffled my hair. I couldn't wait till it was Halloween and I got to see Rita again! I was gonna tell daddy about Rita but he was talking to mommy. I think they were talking about Rita playing hide and seek, mommy said they needed to tell me something but daddy said not yet. I wonder what they wanna tell me. What if Rita wanted me to play with her but forgot? Mommy began to cry and I asked daddy why he said I was to little to understand and to go play with my toy cars instead. I ran to mommy and gave her a hug telling her that everything was ok and that Rita is gonna be ok she was just playing hide and seek.
