THIS GUY, UP THERE IS JACK. YOU'LL KNOW WHEN YOU MEET HIM...

*WINK WINK*

"Poor, little girl. Always lost and in need of some help. That's why I never liked you. Even when trying to play that you're hard or strong, you always need a Jack on your side. And now that you've lost him... "Heh" he laughed, " I knew he was better than that and the fact that you don't remember me proves it. Does even the name Jack, ring any bells?"

"I don't know what you're talking about, crazy man, but you must be thinking I'm somebody else. Now, let me go, I have to leave this place and fast." She answered.

"Maybe you could remember something if I told you my name... It's Ian." He said sceptically, measuring her, staring at her from the tips of her toes to the top of her head.

"Well, that's a nice name, but I still don't get what you're talking about."

A half smile broke on his lips. "Hm!" He laughed, "I prefer you much better that way..." He continued walking slowly, closing her in an imaginary circle. "You know..." He took some steps, "just for the fun of it..." He continued his walk, "I could prove to you, that I'm not 'a crazy man'." He lifted his hand upwards, closer to her neck and lifted her hair, revealing a sign she had on her skin. She pulled a bit backwards when his cold hands touched her skin.

The sign on her skin, that was lying under her hair, was red and seemed as though someone had done this to her with a heated stamp of silver. It displayed a scene of a woman, holding victoriously her sword in the air, sitting on a horse, which was standing on its two feet.

This sign, was a secret. Her secret. She, herself didn't even knew what it meant, but she was sure she hadn't showed it to other people, because she was scared that it could mean something bad. And she didn't want to risk her life while Costello was the governor.

"How could I possibly know about this sign, if I didn't know you, miss Shadows?" The mysterious man asked.

Elinor felt her blood cold in her veins, as she froze in shock. She really wanted to ask so many questions about the strange sign that has been accompanying her since forever. What did it mean? How did she got it? How did he knew about it? Why couldn't she remember that Jack? Why she couldn't remember who that man was? And last but not least, what did he want from her?...

But reconsidering her thoughts, she decided that this man, could mean a lot of danger to her. She couldn't let her surprise show. She shouldn't let her curiosity take over. He could have been bluffing. The sign wasn't anyway in a well hidden spot. Just anybody could see it.

"You look... Shocked." The man pointed out, amused. "Well, it seems there will be no answers for me..." He said in a playful tone, which only scared Elinor more.

"You're bluffing..." She said under her breath.

"Sorry sweetie pie, I can't hear you if you're chewing on your words... Guards!" Ian yelled. "Take her to a convenient dorm. She'll stay there for tonight."

"You're bluffing!" She raised her voice this time.

"I'm afraid I'm not. Now, you should follow the two men over there. Go-go!" He clapped his hands twice, in a too playful tone for the circumstances.

Elinor would get to know more about him, one way or another. He was mysterious and he seemed to have a lot of answers for Elinors tangled past...
