(AFTER TWO WEEKS)

“Harry, come down quickly!” mom said aloud while I was sleeping.

What happened to mom? Today is Sunday, it is a holiday. Why was she calling me? I hope she is fine. I hope Dan is fine.

I quickly ran down in my pajamas.

The TV was on- it was a news channel. Mom and Dan were watching the news carefully.

“What happened mom? Another scam?” I joked.

“Yes,”

“I’ll read about it online. Can I please go back and sleep?”

“Wait, Harry.” Dan said.

He continued, “It is about the mathematics quiz you went for.”

“WHAT?”

“Yeah, see the news.”

I looked up at the TV screen. My vision was blurred- I was still half-asleep, but I could recognize the two faces. They were the Tree Hill High boys!

“Aren’t they the Tree Hill High boys, mom?”

“Yes, Harry.”

“What happened to them?”

“Well apparently, they cheated. They had the list of questions before the quiz. They knew the tie-breaker question too!” Dan said.

“Huh?”

“Hm. They paid some guy to leak out the questions.”

“Oh. How did they find out about this?”

“According to the news, after the quiz an old man recorded the boys giving money to a stranger. The old man is said to be an ex policeperson. He had some sources and found that the stranger is an expert in leaking questions. The person has been arrested a few times earlier also for leaking examination papers!”

“Woah! What about the quiz then? Is ENGLAND disqualified then?”

“Of course, they have disqualified the boys. But there is no news about whether ENGLAND is disqualified or not.”

Our sources are telling us that ENGLAND will not be disqualified from the competition. They will conduct another round where instead of 50 teams the top five teams will compete. Here are the photos and the names of the teams.

First photo was of Mia and me. I looked very weird. Mia looked nice.

Tring. Tring.

That was my landline.

“Hello,” I answered the phone in a grouchy voice.

“OH MY GOSH! Harry, did you hear the news?” I recognized the voice- it was Mia.

“-UH... I mean how dare they? Start studying for the re-round! I mean yeahh... The Tree Hill Boys-”

“RELAX, Mia.”

“Oh, sorry. I guess I’m way too excited.”

“Yeah.”

“Well, okay. I’ll just call Mr.Malik and tell him the good news.”

“Okay, bye.”

“Who was that honey?” mom asked.

“It was Mia, ma. I’ll just call Mr.Malik and come.”

I dialed Mr.Malik’s landline number.

“Hello,” a female voice said.

“Umm, hello! Can I please talk to Mr.Malik?” I replied.

“Yeah, sure. Whom should I say is calling?”

“I’m Harry.”

“Harry, hi. It is Perrie, this side. How have you been?”

“Oh, hi Perrie. Oh, I thought you were in London. I’m good and how are you?”

“Well, yeah. I’m on vacation now.”

“Cool, have fun.”

“Thanks, I’ll just give the phone to Zain. I mean, Mr.Malik.”

“Ha.”

After a minute, Mr.Malik was on the line.

“Yes Mr.Scott, tell me what’s the matter.”

“Good morning, Mr.Malik. Um, I just saw the news. The Tree Hill High boys are accused of cheating during the quiz. They already knew the questions. Therefore, a re-round is being conducted for the two five teams. We are in!”

“Oh, that’s great. Have you told Ms.Sawyer yet? I’m sure she’ll jump with excitement after hearing the news!”

“Yes sir. She already knew about it. She was jumping and seemed pretty excited, yes. Sir, can you please find out when the re-round is being conducted?”

“Sure. This time we’ll work harder, okay?”

“Thank you sir. We will.”

 I hung up.
