I slide out the note. There's a sort of creamish paper with fancy maroon writing. On the front, it said my name. I unfolded the letter and began to read;

Dear Maelle,
We know this is unexpected but it is extremely important. On October 31st, we need you to be at Rolling Road at midnight. Bring a suitcase or bag with clothing and necessities. This is important. You were chosen.

Ok, that sounded really sketchy. There was no way it's real or safe in anyway. Halloween night, at midnight meet an unknown person at a vacant street. There was no way I could believe this. But, I kind of...did. I absolutely know it's not real, but the voices in the back of my head were telling me do it, it's important. I don't know.
I continued to look around the letter, still no name. As I looked some more, shaking around the envelope, CLINK! a pocket watch fell onto the tile floor. I kneeled down and grabbed it. I looked at it and it wasn't working, it was stuck on 9:47. I put everything back in the envelope and checked the calendar hanging up in the kitchen, to see how close it was until October 31st,surprisingly, it was already the 29th. Only a couple days until Halloween. I still don't know if I should go, if I do, I'm bringing Harper, there's no way I'm going alone.

9:30 rolled around and I was started to get tired, so I showered and made it in bed by 9:51, I take long showers. Tomorrow was finally Saturday, the day I've been waiting for since Monday.

I woke up around 9 ish, oh how I loved sleeping in. I probably would of woken up even later if my mom didn't barge in my room to wake me up so I could rake the lawn. I got out of bed, well rested and grabbed a sweatshirt and sweatpants to go rake. I didn't have anything going on today, I was thinking of inviting Harper over or something so I don't get too bored, even though it is good to get bored sometimes, in my opinion, and then I remembered, tomorrow is Halloween. I better invite Harper then, kind have to if I go to Rolling Road. I was thinking all this while raking. I could sit in a plain room all day and constantly be busy, thinking. With all this going on, I barely have too in my mind to wonder who sent the note, I've been busy asking myself WHY they sent it, if I should go, and lots, lots more. I was already done raking the yard, it doesn't take much time, since we only have one or two trees in our yard. I went back inside to go get dressed and then picked up the phone to call Harper, and tell her about what's going on.

Luckily, she could come over and since Harper only lives like three houses down, it only took about five minutes after I called until she was here. DING!DONG! the doorbell rang. I opened up the door and let Harper inside.
