Chapter 17

Elizabeth's POV

Today was my first school day again after staying in hospital for almost 1 week and 3 days at home. I wasn't allowed to go back to school right away after I left the hospital. 

"By the way, Beth, I won't be the one who will drive you to school anymore." Jake said taking a bite of his pancake.

I looked at him confused.

"Huh? Who will drive me then? Or should I walk to school?" I asked.

"Oh hell no in your condition you will not do anything tiring." my father answered.

"That one guy who visited you everyday in hospital...what was his name again?"

"Chase."

"Yeah Chase. He said he will drive you from now since you both are going to the same school." my mother said.

"But-"

"Don't worry. He's a really nice guy and he wanted to this. Now hurry up. He will arrive in a few minutes." my father said.

Without saying anything I went upstairs, grabbed my things and left the house. That's when I saw a black car parking in front of our house honking at me. I opened the door and saw Chase on the driver seat telling me to hop in.

"Why do you want to drive me to school and back home?" I asked him.

"Don't know. I just wanted to." he shrugged.

"Awww that's sweet from you." I said pinching his cheek.

"Don't call me sweet. I'm a guy. You should say I'm Sexy as hell." he said and smirked keeping his eyes on the road.

"Yeah, in your dreams." I said.

We arrived in school really quick and Chase parked at his usual place, amongst the other 'bad boys' a.k.a his friends but I didn't see Blake anywhere nor his bike.

Chase got out of the car and went to my side to open the door for me.

"Princess." he said in a British accent and offered his hand for me to grab.

I laughed and took his hand and stepped out of his car.

"Thank you, Butler Chase." I said and chuckled along with him.

I felt some gaze on me but tried to ignore it. I hate being the center of attention but right now I can't blame them for staring at us. I mean, a bad boy is nice to a normal girl. It seems like that's something knew here.

Bryan, David and Jack came to us greeting Chase with some 'man greeting' and looked at me.

"Since when are you both so close?" Bryan asked Chase smirking.

"Don't think so dirty." Chase said and we made our way in.

Stares everywhere directed to us. I felt a bit uncomfortable and tried to hide behind the others.

"What's wrong, Beth?" David asked me.

"I feel really uncomfortable because of...well them staring at us like that..." I said nervously.

David looked around and some people were even gossiping and pointing at us.

"Don't you have anything to do?" David yelled at them making them flinch. Even me.

Some turned around and some made their way to class quickly.

"Thanks.." I mumbled.

"No problem. Blake would kill us if something happens to you." he said.

Blake...

"Speaking of Blake, where is he?" I asked him.

"He didn't come to school for 2 days now. He said he caught a cold." David said and shrugged.

Blake catching a cold? You must be kidding. He never caught a cold only if he stays too long in the bath...oh...okay that explains everything.

When we were younger we bathed together once (don't think dirty, we had our swimsuits on). I left after some time because I didn't like the feeling of my skin after being so long in the water. Blake stayed for more than 3 hours in the bathtub. We didn't check on him because we thought he was only playing with his ship. Well we were so wrong. After a while we checked on him and he fainted. He got high fever short time after that.

That happened about 4 times when I was with him. I thought he would have learned his lessons but I think that wasn't the case...

I said my goodbyes to the boys and went to my first period. I only took one step in and then Alice came.

"BEEEEEEEETTTTHHHH!!! WHERE THE F*CK WERE YOU THE WHOLE WEEK?!" she yelled running towards me hugging me.

The impact surprised me that I ALMOST fell down on my sweet butt.

"Good morning to you too." I said sarcastically.

"Would you please answer my question?!"

"I-I had the flu." I said nervously.

"You could have called, you know! We were so worried about you. We thought you died or something." she cried.

"Sorry, sorry. Won't happen again." I said and patted her back.

We were standing there for a while until someone behind us cleared his throat.

"Nice to see you in my class, Ms. Conner." my science teacher said in a low voice.

We immediately went to our seats and the class began.

I spent the whole day with Alice and the others. They were also so worried about me and Rose was about to cry.

I found it really sweet that they care for me so much even though they don't know me so well.

Dr. Reyenes said that we have to wait until someone it fit for me but they don't know how long it will take or if they can find someone until then.

I'm surprised that I don't freak out knowing that I will die in 1 year. It's not like I don't care, I often hear that I only have this and that time until then. I'm used to it already.

I made my way to the parking lot where Chase was waiting for me.

"Ready?" Chase asked and I only nodded before I got in and we drove away.

On the way I asked Chase the question I've been asking myself.

"Chase?"

"Yes?"

"Can you drop me at Blake's place please?"

He hesitated and I swear I saw some emotion in his eyes but he immediately covered it with a blank expression.

"Already missing him?" he asked smirking.

"Nope." I said popping out the 'p'.

"You're a bad lair." he said still smirking.

"And you're a bad driver." I said back.

"Ouch, that hurts, princess."

"Princess? Seriously?"

"What? Suits you."

"As if. Don't call me that, Pokie."

"Pokie?"

"If you give me a nickname then I will too."

"But why Pokie? That sounds cute. I'm a man. I need something like sexy or handsome."

"In your dreams."

"You're always in my dreams." he said softly.

Now that sounded like he really meant it. But I don't get the thought out that he sounded hurt...

Why?
