Jake's POV
I swivel around in my chair trying to think of lyrics. I stop spinning and look out the studio window and down at the world of Los Angeles below. I feel envious. Those people aren’t stuck in a stuffy studio attempting to write lyrics for their new and first CD. I watch as a couple walk past pushing a baby stroller and sigh. I miss Amanda and Jamie. I was forced to leave them in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Home….where I should be. I should be at home helping Amanda take care of Jamie, not sitting in a studio, but alas this is the life I have chosen. I'm just thankful that Amanda has decided to stick with me through all this. I mean ever since we got together so much shit has happened to both of us. Her ex bobby came and kidnapped her, then she lied to me to protect her identity and last she was kidnapped again. But I got her back and Bobby is now in jail, where I hope he will stay. But what if he breaks out and takes her again….
I am suddenly aware of fingers being snapped in front of my face.
"Earth to Jake?" I turn my head to see Edgar.
"Yes?" I snap. I don't mean to be mean to him. I'm just cranky. I want to be home right now.
"You alright there? You've been zoned out for about 5 minutes." He says.
"yeah, I just want to be home with Amanda and Jamie." I sigh.
"I know, but how is that song coming along?" He asks. I look down at my blank piece of paper with the words: Me And You" written at the top.
"Not good. All I have is the title." I say showing him the paper.
"Well that's a start." he smiles encouragingly.
I shake my head as my phone goes off. I pull it out to see Amanda is calling. I grin, get up and leave the room.
"Hey beautiful." I answer shutting the studio door.
"Hey handsome." I can hear her grinning.
"How's home?" I ask her.
"Boring without you…" She sighs. I then hear Jennifer scream in background,
" I'm not that boring!"
I laugh and Jennifer yells at me for laughing.
"I miss you." Amanda says causing me to frown.
"I miss you too." I sigh.
"What's wrong Jake?" She asks.
"Nothing." I try to smile but I can't. I miss her too much.
"It's not nothing. I can tell something is wrong. So please just tell me." She pleads.
"I just want to be home with you." I complain.
"I know baby, but you have to keep pushing on. I'm supporting you every step of the way." She says.
"I know and I'm thankful for that. I feel like you are the only one who understands." I sigh.
"Well don't forget. It's Me And You. we goin burn this city down and the only ones that'll make it out are me and you. it don't matter where we go we'll leave behind all that we know." She softly sings.
"Babe, you are a genius." I grin.
"Huh? I was just making up lyrics." She says confused.
"I know! I'm trying to write a song called Me and You. Those lyrics are genius." I exclaim.
"Well glad I could help." she says. I then hear Jamie crying in the background. "I have to go. Jamie calls."
"I love you Amanda." I say sadly.
"I love you too Jake." She says before hanging up. I place my phone back in my pocket and walk back into the studio pick up the pen and paper and write:
