The Second Chance

Numb with shock, the team wanders around the new and unfamiliar space ship. Their new ally, Professor Honeycutt AKA The Fugitoid, tries his best to comfort the six teenagers in their grieving of Master Splinter.

Leonardo finds himself meditating often, usually in the mind room. It takes him some time to build up the courage and actually activate it. The first thing it creates is New York city's rooftops and Master Splinter standing peacefully on a ledge. Leo breaks down into tears upon seeing his father, his heart heavy with homesickness.

Raphael spends most of his time in the training room, only taking breaks to sleep, eat or use the bathroom. He completely closes himself off from his brothers and friends, knowing he's a ticking time bomb. His rage builds with every punch to the training dummy. Picturing Shredder in his mind. Reliving the moment Shredders gauntlet blades pierced through his father's body. Hearing he and his brother's screams of shock and horror. That was, without a doubt, the worst moment of his life. And soon, he'll need more than this worn punching bag to let out his anger.

The Fugitoid gives Donnie some space to tinker, along with some parts. Donatello doesn't leave his little space. He barely eats, and won't talk to anyone, not even April. He's so shaken from Splinters death, from the destruction of Earth. Even though the chances of success were low, he believed they would save the day.
They almost did.

Michelangelo tries his hardest to be the cheerful goofball everyone knows and loves, but at night when he's alone, he finally crumbles and cries into his pillow. Splinters death shocked him, terrified him. He always imagined Master Splinter to be invincible. Unbeatable. Now the illusion has shattered, and Mikey is forced to accept that no one is invincible. Not even his father.

Now they must pull their act together, dry their eyes, and press on to save Earth. Six months may seem like a while, but they cannot waste a second.

The first alien planet the team steps foot on is the Mos Eisley-esque spaceport. Standing outside of the ship, their eyes are as wide as can be, staring at the hundreds of extraterrestrials walking by. For the first time since they entered space, Donatello is eager to walk among these new beings and hopefully collect some new information from them. Raphael and Casey can't wait to find some awesome space weapons and battle each other. Mikey is ecstatic to find some alien food to try. Leonardo is thrilled to explore this port, just as his hero, Captain Ryan, does in episode 23, season 3 of Space Heroes. April wishes to look around, like Leo, and possibly find a souvenir for this exciting adventure.

"Now then, while I refill the ships fuel tank and make some minor repairs, you may go out and explore. But be careful. This spaceport is infamous for harboring the galaxies most dangerous criminals and thieves. I should be finished in a few hours." Professor Honeycutt says while eyeing the crowd before them.

"Of course Professor," Donnie nods, sounding a little more cheerful. The Fugitoid nods and goes to work, leaving the group.

"I say we split up to cover more ground," Leo recommends, to which the others nod, and without another word, run out into the crowd.

While Donnie and April browse stalls with hundreds of unusual alien items, a man with silver hair and crystal blue eyes approaches the purple masked turtle. "Pardon me," he begins, addressing with a solemn tone. Donatello turns to observe the man, immediately noticing his features and clean, crisp white space suit. "I am a soldier from the planet Lumina Stellar, City of the Stars."

Donnie blinks at the incredibly official introduction and nods slowly.
"I am Donatello of um, Earth.. New York city, USA..?" He replies tentatively. The soldier nods.

"I am in search of a criminal of our planet. She was last spotted in this area. Have you perchance seen her?" He holds a small device in the palm of his hand. A hologram of a young woman with silver hair and e/c eyes appears in the air above it. She is an absolutely breathtaking sight.

"Oh, um, no I haven't," Don replies. "But if I do, I'll be sure to find you," he adds with a small smile.

"Many thanks," the soldier bows slightly with his left hand on his right shoulder, then slips back into the crowd. Donnie glances at April, who had been listening.

"He was kinda.." he begins, walking over to her.

"Stiff," April chuckles slightly, looking at a crystal-like jewel.

At the other side of the port, Raphael and Casey are goofing off at a weapons store, despite the robot on hand warning them otherwise. Another soldier had just stopped by and done the same as the one Donatello and April met. As they battle with laser axes and swords, they discussed what 'that chick' had done to have the army of an entire planet chasing after her. Raph jumps out into the skirts of the crowd as they fight, and a hooded figure bumps his shoulder, compelling him to stumble back.

"Excuse you," he snaps, glaring at their back. A tired huff can be heard from underneath the cloak.

"If you wish to not be hit, it would be wise to stay out of the crowd," you respond, keeping your back to him.

"If you wish to not be confronted for crashing into someone, stay out of other peoples way!" He retorts, mimicking your fancy tone. With an eye roll, you resume walking, until a large alien knocks into you and makes you fall back, along with your hood. Raph and Casey's eyes widen as they gaze at you.

"It's her! The criminal!"

"By the grace of starlight.." you mumble, scrambling up to your feet and running off. Raphael quickly chases after you, weaving through the crowd as he watches your head of silver hair dash past aliens. You pull up your hood as you run, and soon after, he looses you in the swarm of extraterrestrial bodies. You breathe a sigh of relief once you're certain you are safe, and walk calmly to the port full of space ships

Scanning over the vast line of ships, your eyes soon land on a spotless, white space ship with a robot making repairs and refueling. You sneak closer, inspecting the vicinity for something to distract the android. Spotting a rock on the ground, you scoop it up and scan for any individuals watching before throwing it at the robot. It stumbles forward from the force, then picks up the rock from it's feet. You take your opportunity to run in the ships cargo bay and find a way into the living compartments.

You find your way to the weapons room and take a quick glance around before seizing a small anti-gravity gun, then continue on to search for a hiding spot. All too soon do you hear shouting and explosions, rushing your hunt. You find a large cabinet full of blankets and towels, and quickly slip in, constructing a nest to sleep in. Soon after, you hear loud, unruly voices and rushed footsteps enter the ship, and then feel everything shift as the vessel takes off. After a long while of silence, you doze off in the stuffy, cramped cabinet space, dreaming of your home planet, of your mother and father and of finally celebrating your 15th birthday with no worries.

You awake with a sudden jerk, confused as your e/c eyes dart around the dark surroundings.

"Mikey, will you move over??" A gruff voice speaks sharply, causing you to jolt once again and turn your gaze to the small crack of light from the door.

"Hey, Raph! That's my pizza!" A childlike voice whines, and a scuffling can be heard. You hold your breath as something stands in front of the cabinet, blocking your light.

"Alright guys, who took my blanket?" A mature voice questions, causing the shuffling and racket to halt. After a moment of silence the childlike voice speaks up.

"I think Donnie has it!" 'Mikey' chirps.

"Why would Donnie have it?" The angry voice, Raph, huffs.

"I dunno, but I saw him around Leo's bunk!" Mikey replies.

'Such queer names..' you reflect, inching closer to the door to hear clearer.

"Alright, fine. I'll just get another.." You hear Leo grumble before the door opens, and the light from outside momentarily blinds you.

"What the shell?!" All three exclaim.
