"The people with the brightest smiles often hold the darkest secrets."
They say 'Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise.' Putting on a fake smile doesn't explain why you're not happy. It's not a sign of weakness, either. It just covers up all the hard times. Sometimes I think that I'm just too complicated to find happiness. Or that I'm just worthless. I never really knew what was wrong with me, but then again no one did. They tell you it's going to be okay. So you keep that in the back of your head until you get lost in your own mind and eat up every little thing you've heard.
'We're all in the same game; just different levels. Dealing with the same hell; different devils.'
I never knew I wanted to be saved. I couldn't explain why. They say 'Stars can't shine without darkness,' and I always thought that was a lie. You can't be depressed with a smile. It's merely impossible. A smile can't fool, for when you look into their eyes you'll see that they're breaking inside. See, when you're a little girl, you're taught that you'll grow up and marry a rich and handsome man, live in an expensive house, and be happy.
And when you're a little girl you think your dreams will come true. You'll live in a world where anything is possible. Where everything is okay. Those people who told you that, oh, were they wrong. Or at least I thought they were wrong. I always kept everything on the inside 'cause that's the safest place to hide. That's what I always thought.
But that was before I met him.
